Meet Stetson!

Stetson is a 12 week old little man, his mother was a Chocolate Lab and his father is unknown. He is pretty typical puppy, he eats, sleeps, plays and goes potty, but not always in that order. He has been with us for about a week now and he gets along great with his foster sister Lacey as you can see in his photos. She was a former puppy mill momma and she treats him like her own.

He loves to be outside with the big dogs but his going down steps covered in snow looks more like a controlled slide than stepping down.

Stetson is scheduled for his neuter surgery on 2/6/13 and would be ready for adoption anytime after that. We are working on crate training him, he was not put in a crate until he came into RAGOM's care and now he has some anxiety about being locked in there. Right now until the crate issue is resolved he is sleeping with our adult daughter who just finished college and is home most of the day with him. He will require someone who is patient and committed to this crate training process and realize that puppies should not be left in their crates longer than 1 hour per month of age, so right now that means 3 hours max at a time.

As a puppy Stetson will need an adoptive family who is:

  1. willing to take him to obedience classes,
  2. ready for the challenges a puppy brings
  3. realizes that cute puppies become adult dogs very fast and they are 10+ year commitments.

If you feel like you are up for this challenge please let your placement advisor know.
