A cold and windy hello from Grand Forks, ND coming your way!
Well, for reasons I can't even begin to imagine, Mr. Nelson is the last puppy left after 9 of his siblings have all been adopted. I happen to think Nelson is one of the sweetest and best looking pups around and would love to be cuddling in the arms of his forever home any day now!
We had been keeping all 10 of the pups in our lower level, but now that he's the only one left, he has access to the entire house. We are working on house training and so far, it is going well. Since Saturday, (today is Monday), he has piddled in the house twice. Every other time and duty has been accomplished outside. He has learned to come in and sit for his treat. He kennels up nicely and will be quiet in it all night provided the house is quiet. As soon as someone or one of the other dogs stirs, he's up & ready to go! He loves playing with our 18 month old resident golden, but knows when enough is enough and will go and lay down for a nap.
Nelson is a quiet fellow and would do well in any household. I happen to think he would prefer a more mellow atmosphere as he is not rambunctious or rowdy. He does not need to be in motion at all times and will peacefully sit with you on the couch (yes I allow them on the furniture) and relax with you. He's kinda a "zen" dog. Mellow & pensive. Not to say he couldn't adapt, but if you know your family is highly active and constantly in motion, I'm not sure he's the one for you as I don't think he'll want to keep up. He's more about taking it all in and observing.Nelson loves to be held and petted, especially on his belly like all dogs do. He is a dream! He is looking for that home that will commit to proper training, excellent veterinary care, and a life of luxury! Please contact your placement advisor if you are interested in meeting Nelson.
