Greeting from Grand Forks, ND and a hearty welcome to Mr. Nelson. He is one of 10 puppies born to Annie 12-425 on November 22, 2012.

A hunter found momma out in the middle of nowhere and brought her home. Two weeks later, on Thanksgiving day, she delivered the pups. Unable to care for 11 dogs, he contacted the local shelter. They were unable to handle that many dogs so the shelter contacted Prairie Paws Rescue out of Jamestown, ND. They in-turn contacted RAGOM to see about placing the dogs with us, and of course, RAGOM said YES! So, many, many, many kudos & thanks to Prairie Paws Rescue for all their hard work in getting these wonderful dogs to a warm and safe place to grow!

Nelson is a lighter golden with dark ears. He weighed 5.07lbs at the vet yesterday where he received his first distemper combo vaccine, bordatella vaccine, and was dewormed. He will need to be neutered and then he will be ready for his adoptive home. All puppies are adorable at this age, no question. But they come with a lot of baggage as well. Such as continued veterinary care until their round of vaccinations is complete, and then yearly vet bills after that, obedience training, housebreaking, chewing on everything, etc. You must be willing to commit your time, patience, finances, love, & kindness for many years. If you can do that, please contact your placement adviser about meeting this gem!

A cold and windy hello from Grand Forks, ND coming your way!

Well, for reasons I can't even begin to imagine, Mr. Nelson is the last puppy left after 9 of his siblings have all been adopted. I happen to think Nelson is one of the sweetest and best looking pups around and would love to be cuddling in the arms of his forever home any day now!

We had been keeping all 10 of the pups in our lower level, but now that he's the only one left, he has access to the entire house. We are working on house training and so far, it is going well. Since Saturday, (today is Monday), he has piddled in the house twice. Every other time and duty has been accomplished outside. He has learned to come in and sit for his treat. He kennels up nicely and will be quiet in it all night provided the house is quiet. As soon as someone or one of the other dogs stirs, he's up & ready to go! He loves playing with our 18 month old resident golden, but knows when enough is enough and will go and lay down for a nap.

Nelson is a quiet fellow and would do well in any household. I happen to think he would prefer a more mellow atmosphere as he is not rambunctious or rowdy. He does not need to be in motion at all times and will peacefully sit with you on the couch (yes I allow them on the furniture) and relax with you. He's kinda a "zen" dog. Mellow & pensive. Not to say he couldn't adapt, but if you know your family is highly active and constantly in motion, I'm not sure he's the one for you as I don't think he'll want to keep up. He's more about taking it all in and observing.Nelson loves to be held and petted, especially on his belly like all dogs do. He is a dream! He is looking for that home that will commit to proper training, excellent veterinary care, and a life of luxury! Please contact your placement advisor if you are interested in meeting Nelson.

Sweet, Sweet, Nelson! He is 7.8lbs now and recovering nicely from his neuter this week. He has had his second round of distemper/parvo vaccination and his second deworming. Nelson is a playful pup who likes attention. He plays hard and sleeps harder, usually very close to one of his siblings, if not on top of one of them! He loves to be picked up and loved on, but he's also content to hang out in the back and be observant. He's my "thinker"...always in the mix but hanging back in order to take it all in! If you are interested in this guy, please contact your placement adviser!
