Brandy 12-424 is a 12 year old female Golden Retriever who came to us this weekend along with her son Parker 12-423. Her family has fallen on some financial difficulties and surrendered this beautiful pair to RAGOM. Brandy is spayed but not up to date with any vetting. She will see the vet on Friday. She is very over weight and appears to be nearly (if not completely) deaf.

Brandy relies on Parker for everything. These two are each others shadow. One does nothing without the other. I feel it would be in their best interest to be adopted together. Brandy spends a great deal of the day sleeping. She pulls while on the leash and does not like the gentle leader at all. She does not want to go into a crate but is fine being confined to the laundry room at night. Her former owner said that she eats drywall but as of yet I have not seen any destructive behavior. She is an all around sweet girl.

Hi, Brandy here. FM is busy doing homework so I decided I better send an update.

Many, many thanks to Friends of Flicka for their donation in honor of Yogi and to Dave D for the holly token!

FM says I am such a good girl. I am a very easy girl to have around since I spend much of my time napping. I love to have belly rubs, get scratched behind the ears and sleep on your feet. I can play like a much younger girl when I am outside. I can almost keep up with those Cockers when I want to. I do not get into anything, do not bark and always go outside when I need to. I sleep in the laundry room while FM and FD are at work during the day. I sleep wherever I want at night when everyone else is asleep. I usually choose the living room floor. I would make someone a great companion that does not want to worry about going for long walks, (short ones are fine) and does not need to worry about me running away. I usually keep FM and Parker in my sight when we are outside.

It is time to update Brandy with some new pictures since she has been to the beauty parlor. She is ready for her forever home. She is a very happy go lucky girl. Don't let her age fool you. The vet said she is very healthy for her age. She enjoys going for walks and even plays a bit with the other dogs. She loves a good belly rub and sleeping near her people. She is a low maintenance kind of gal. We have been working on getting some weight off of her and I do think she has dropped a few pounds.

Brandy gets along well with everyone. I think she would like to be in a home with another dog since she has been with Parker for so many years. She is slow to rise if she is laying on linoleum or tile floors but gets up very easily if she has a rug or carpet under her. Her feet slip on the tile and linoleum. I think this will get easier for her also as she loses some more weight.

Brandy as well as everyone else here loves when FM and FD go for the coffee maker because that means it is treat time.

She would make someone a terrific companion for her remaining years. Please talk to your placement adviser if you are interested in meeting sweet Brandy.
