Danno 12-399

Please welcome Danno to RAGOM!  Wow!  Can you say Merry Christmas FM?  This foster is a gift and he is going to make an amazing family pup for some lucky adopter!

Here is what I know so far... He has a great personality and is both playful and loving.  He will wrestle non-stop with his fur-brother, Clyde, and seems to love toys.  Cats are obviously new and interesting, and definitely worth some good cautious sniffs.  He jumps in the car with no prompting, and can be loose while driving without attempting to "help" the driver.  He greeted visitors with excitement but no jumping or barking, and seems to love the two-legged kids.  He can sit and lay down on command, an is thrilled to see the leash come out!  The back yard is great for running and racing, but he has shown no interest in approaching the 4 foot fence. So far, Danno has done all of his business outside, so I'm hoping we will be able to say with confidence that he is fully potty trained!  He knows his name and will come when he hears someone calling!

He is already neutered, is negative for parasites, and will get his full check up, microchip, and the rest of his vaccines tomorrow.  Danno weighs in at about 65 lbs and that seems to be about right for this handsome fella.  There are various age estimates on his paperwork.  One estimate says +/- one year, the other says 2-3 years.  We'll see what the RAGOM vet says tomorrow, but FM is guessing he is in the 1-2 year range.

We were told he was high energy, but I don't see anything out of the ordinary here for a young Golden Retriever.  Like most other Golden's his age, he will do best with some good exercise each day in the form of walks or runs, playtime with the tug toy or ball, or wrestling with other fur-butts -- if he is really lucky, all three!

This boy is going to go quickly, so if you are interested please let your placement advisor know!

Hi Everyone!  It's me, Danno!  Actually sometimes they call me Danno-no... Not really sure what that's about, but it doesn't bother me too much.  I'm what my FM calls an easy-keeper aside from a few small issues.  The other day while she was at work I did some redecorating on the carpet and steps... Sometimes the smallest changes make such a difference in how things look!  FM wasn't too appreciative, but she's no interior decorator, am I right?  Now she says we have "trust issues" and you know what that means.  The location-which-shall-not-be-named (starts with a C, ends with an E and has RAT in the middle) is my new home when the family is out and about.

I am little dinged up right now thanks to some rough playing with my favorite fur-kid here, Clyde (Sunny 11-052).  I tweaked a little something in my leg when we were wrestling the other day, and now it bothers me every once in a while.  My vet gave me some medicine to help it feel better, but then something really crazy happened.  My ears got yucky, and I got a big hot spot right on the top of my head.  To help it clear up I got a little haircut (very edgy!) and I am taking some new medicine.  The vet-guy says he is suspicious that I had a reaction to the leg medicine.  Whatever.  It doesn't bother me much.

In more exciting news, we had a special morning a few days ago!  When I got up there were all kinds of new toys under the tree that is growing in our family room.  Someone tried to disguise some balls with some kind of special packaging, but I knew right what they were without even opening 'em up!  Check out the picks of my awesome unwrapping skills! Unfortunately it turns out that tree thingy isn't very sturdy... Just a little scuffle with my foster brothers, and one of us trying to sneak between it and the wall and BOOM!  Timber!!!!!  Water everywhere, and all kinds of little toys that I couldn't reach before scattered across the room.  I know an opportunity when I see one, so I snatched a couple and ran!

Most exciting, though,  I had some special visitors that drove all the way from Minnesota to meet me today...  I had a bath, and got my toes trimmed and everything.   I knew they were coming, but I didn't know (drumroll....) I was going!  That's right!  The visitors turned out to be my forever family!  I guess they like handsome guys with goofy hairdos!

I'm gonna have a fenced yard and my new mom and dad like to run just like I do.  My new mom said we are going to have a 'gotiation about whether or not I get to sleep in bed with her and my pop.  I've got mad 'gotiation skills, not to mention I am a first-class snuggler,  so I'm confident it won't be long till we come to an understanding... Thanks to everyone at RAGOM, and my one-woman transport team, Cheerie, for helping me find my folks!
