Please welcome Joey to RAGOM! Joey is a 5 week old (DOB 11-8-12) Golden Retriever mix. Joey's mom is a PB Golden and daddy is a mystery. Daddy is likely a larger breed as the pups are all big puppies for just turning 5 weeks old! Little Joey has a very unique coloring.....and draws lots of attention because of it.

Joey comes to RAGOM with his three sisters and is all fluffy puppy! All four puppies have gorgeous thick fur! Joey has been seen by a vet and cleared with flying colors. He weighed in as the 2nd largest pup at 6 lb 6 oz. He even showed the vet tech what a good boy he is by peeing right on the scale as he was being weighed! He kept going, and going, and going......it gave everyone a good chuckle.

Joey and his sisters will be available for adoption when they are 8 weeks old and after they get neutered/spayed. They will likely be large dogs as adults judging from their size currently. As with all puppies, they will require a lot of time, patience, and training while developing into wonderful adult companions. They will certainly chew your favorite shoe, and potty on that brand new rug, so be sure you are prepared for that! :) Also, because they are young puppies, they can not be expected to "hold it" all day and will need to be let out during the weekday for many months to come.

If that all sounds like something you are looking for.....then Joey might be just the boy for you! Even though he cannot be adopted until after he is 8 weeks old, he is available to meet interested applicants. If you would like to meet Joey (or his sisters), let your placement coordinator know!

Hard work pays off. Joey has been eating and eating in hopes of passing up Lily for the award of biggest pup and has officially surpassed her this week. Joey and his sisters went to the vet clinic today to get their second distemper vaccination and he weighed in at 12 lbs! I can definitely tell the puppies are getting heavier (they've all nearly doubled their weight from when they came to me 2 weeks ago), taller, and the snouts are getting longer. Joey is practicing going up stairs and trying to be brave about going back down! All the puppies are enjoying play sessions outside in the snow and their thick fur will be great for potty training in the winter. Joey is usually the first puppy to come running when I call "puppies, puppies, puppies" to round them up. I'm sure getting a treat when he comes helps!

The puppies are all getting spayed and neutered next Thursday, Jan. 3rd and will be ready to go home after healing from that. All Joey needs is a forever home that is ready for all the joys and work a puppy brings! If you are interested in meeting Joey, let your placement coordinator know!

Heeeeeeere's Joey! Yup, I'm that kinda kid. You know, the first outta the pen and the first to find trouble. :) Me and my sisters turn 6 weeks old today! I can't believe I'm so big already but I guess time flies when you are having fun. I looove to eat. I eat, and nurse, and eat and nurse. See, I'm trying to catch my big sister Lily in the weight department. I'm just over 8 lbs now and FM (foster mom) can tell we've grown when she picks us up! We are now eating big puppy kibble with water added but I love to nurse too. FM says we need to give our mommy a break and stop nursing on her every time she is around. I say milk does a body good.....and who doesn't want a good body?!

We are getting better at running and tackling each other and Mommy is teaching us all about playing. Today she played soccer with us (well she played and we chased her) and it was a blast! We were all very proud of ourselves as we ran around as fast as we could.

FM thinks our daddy might have been a Newfoundland, or a Newfoundland mix. Our faces look just like Newfie puppy pictures and that would also explain our bigger size and thick fur! My coloring is extra special and I will never tell how it came to be. A guy has to have a few secrets you know.

I need a little snack, so I gotta run. But let your placement coordinator know if you want to meet me or my sisters!!!
