We would like to welcome Simon 12-334 to the Ragom family. Simon is our first foster dog!

He is a great guy! We call him the gentle giant, he is 88lbs, big head some white coloring-we think he's mixed with a St Bernard. He is 5 yrs old. Super mellow & very gentle. Plays with our 1yr golden Hudson. When he doesn't want to play he lays down and she tries everything (biting, liking him to death, and pawing at him) to get him up and he just lays there with no aggressive issues at all. He has NOT growled snapped or even looked the wrong way at any of us or our dog. Eats great, no bathroom issues. We have 3 kids, a 7yr old boy and 9yr old twins, and he is very friendly with them, he cuddles with them. He is not neutered yet so he did mark 2xs in the house the first day, but after I told him no, he has not done it again. We have a fenced in yard and he does want to get out, so we have to keep an eye on him. But comes back right away when called.

He has only been at our house for 1 week. But this is what we know about him so far.

He is a great walker, super mellow, never pulls. Sleeps all night. During the day when we go off to work we put him in the bathroom and he is great, scratches a couple times but then lays down. I would leave him alone in the house but we have a bunny in a cage and the cage isn't super secure, but when introduced he didn't appear to want to eat him! Travels good in the car.

Now for Simon's vet visit. Some sad news is hes Heartworm Postive but the good news is Ragom will make sure he gets healthy again.

He is UTD with shots. Finishing hookworm pills. The heartworm regimine is 4 pills in the morn and 4 at night for a month, with normal activity. Then 1 big shot the next month and he has to stay over night, and then be super low key for a month. Then receives another shot and needs to lay low for another month. Then will get neutered so it would be a 3 month commitment to get him well before he can be Neutered and be placed in his forever home. If you were thinking of sponsoring a dog Please consider Simon 12-334 his vet bills will be costly. Simon will move to a perm foster home to see him through his treatment of heartworm.

The only reason we are not perm fostering him, is that we want to adopt him already, he is so sweet and I am not ready to have 2 perm dogs, and its our 1st foster.

Please continue to follow Simon updates.

Hey everyone!

I am updating you as promised. Foster Mom figured out her new camera, so she has given me the pictures to show you!

Today, Foster Mom got on her snow boots and came to play with me in the backyard and get more photos! We played some of my favorite games like chase.... I love to chase her, and then she chases me, and I really think it's more fun in the SNOW! I also played with sticks. I love to shake and chew on them, it's so much fun. I didn't stay focused on Foster Mom very long, I heard the neighbor dogs barking and I couldn't help myself... I pushed under the fence and ran to make my neighborhood rounds. Foster Mom was not happy about that. She says I have to stay on a leash or a tie-out from now on, or at least until my neuter. Foster Mom scheduled me for a neuter on January 4th. One step closer to being available to adopt!

That's what's new for now, check out my pictures! Don't you think I am cute!?

Hey everyone, its Simon. I have a lot to catch you up on! I have changed foster families and have done well settling in. My new foster family doesn't have any other dogs or kids but they do have two cats! My new foster family says this will be a good home for me while I go through my heart worm treatment which after talking to the vet, doesn't sound like much fun at all.

I am 100% potty trained except for when other male dogs come over, then I have to mark my territory. Foster mom gives me free roam of the house while she is gone in the day and I have done great. I do scratch at the door a little right when she leaves just to remind her that I'll miss her.

My foster home has been pretty busy lately. Some of my foster mom's family came to stay for the weekend and they brought their 3 little boys (6 months, 3 years and 5 years old). I had a blast following those boys around. They gave me so much attention. We even played on the playset outside together. The playset platform has a bridge connected to the deck and I saw the boys playing out on it so I decided to climb the small ladder and join them! When foster mom went to grab the camera I ran down the slide so she never did get a picture of it. :-( But there are some other pictures of me and the boys playing together.

The family visitors also brought along their male German short-hair, Tucker. Tucker and I got along but I didn't like him being around much because I am the top dog.

Yesterday we had another visit from a 1 year old girl. Her and I got along great, she loved to take my bone from me and then I would go and gently take it back from her. It was a fun game. I love kids. Mostly because they occasionally drop food and foster mom lets me eat it.

Even though I am in a new foster home I still love to wander. I found a spot in the garden where the fence is low enough to jump over and foster mom has had to chase me. She thinks the neuter will help with that, whatever that is.

I am currently on the first step of my heart-worm treatment which involves me taking 8 pills a day that helps kill an organism in the female heart-worm that helps with reproduction. Next is a shot (On November 7th). I have to stay at the vet for a few days when that happens. I am not looking forward to it but I know it eventually will make me feel better.

Well thats it for now! Keep up with my updates, I'll need a forever home just as soon as these heart-worms are gone!

XOXO

Simon
