Hotch has taken to our newest member of the family, our 6 month old Sheltie, Auggie. These two are quite inseparable.

Something called "Christmas" is quickly approaching, mom says. I'm happy to be spending it with my new family. This past weekend they got this HUGE tree and put it in the living room! Can you believe it? It smells SO good. I can't stop sniffing it! Mom and my boy, P have been putting these dangly things all over it. Mom keeps wondering how many of them I'll keep knocking down with my happy, wagging tail. I have no idea what she's talking about. ;)
I hope all of my RAGOM friends are as happy as I am and have a very merry Christmas!

Hi there!
Oh boy, where do I start?
We adopted Hotch (f/k/a Dudley) on Saturday, October 20th and life hasn't been the same since. He couldn't be a better match for this family. He's absolutely perfect...right down to the red and curly fur. :) He has been a wonderful addition to this family and our 7-year-old son absolutely adores having him. I've been involved with Sheltie rescue for the past 13 years so Hotch has two Sheltie sisters as well, along with a Schnoodle sister. It's a full house here and I wouldn't change it for the world!
Thank you for allowing us to give Hotch his forever home. We're very lucky to have him.

Well what can I say about Dudley other than the SO was right - he is nearly the perfect dog!
Dudley would do well in any home. He lived with 5 boys some older some very young, lived with a bunny, cat, another dog and this dog was a shitzu, so any size dog also! So he is used to a lot of noise, activity, high energy environment. I don't think there is much he could not handle except a home with not enough activity.
Dudley listens very well and knows many commands. He loves to play fetch. Where he lived before he had free roam outside on 80 acres and would always cross a busy road to visit his girlfriend, he is not a dog that will run away but will for sure go exploring...He is used to coming and going as he pleases. I do not think a fence is required as long as you are willing to supervise him, he is a fast learner and would learn boundaries very quickly but I also think if he were ever unattended he would probably wander off. So a fence if you are not willing to be outside with him.
Because he was used to coming and going outside as he pleases, he was not on a leash much at all, but walks very well on leash.
He is a 86# lap dog, has free roam of house when we are not home and does wonderful, 100% house trained, no accidents at all, barks once in awhile when someone comes to the door but not every time, that is the only time I have heard him bark.
Where he lived before he would sleep under the bed at night, yes under the bed, so when he came to our home, he could not get under my bed as we have a platform bed with drawers on the bottom, so the first night he tried to get under my dresser, that was a sight to see, an 86# dog trying to squeeze in a very small space. Well there was no way he was going to fit under my dresser so he paced and whined for awhile and then settled in. I now leave the bedroom door open and most of the time he will sleep out in the living room on the couch and once in awhile will come in and sleep on the dog bed in the bedroom.
Dudley is a very easy dog. He would love another dog to play with or I think make someone a great running partner!
