It is with mixed emotions that I announce that Bubba was adopted today. I am very happy for him because I think he is going to a great family who will give him all the love and attention that he deserves. But Carlie and I are also very sad to see him leave. It was a pleasure to have him with us and he was an absolute joy to have around. I am going to miss how he would always follow me around the house with a squeaking tennis ball in his mouth and how happy he was to see me whenever I came home! And I know Carlie will miss having a little brother to hang out with and snooze next to. Thank you to all who read about, and fell in love with, Bubba and a special thanks to his sponsor and holiday icon givers!!

Happy Thanksgiving, Everyone!!
It’s Bubba here to give a quick update on me while my foster daddy is busy watching football. Football is okay but the ball is too big to fit in my mouth. That’s why I like tennis a lot more. The ball fits perfectly in my mouth and I can carry one around all day! Luckily, my foster dad happens to have a lot of tennis balls….and some of them even squeak. How fun is that??
Things are going very well here in my foster home. Carlie is a wonderful big sister and foster dad is a hoot, too. He gives me lots of love and attention and he doesn’t mind that I follow him around wherever he goes. And he takes Carlie and me to lots of fun places…..to parks, to visit grandma…okay, so maybe not LOTS of fun places just yet…..but the places we have gone have certainly been fun!
In addition to loving tennis balls, parks and visits to grandma’s, here are a few more things about me:
- I love car rides! And I am always well behaved when riding.
- I love to run, swim, chase balls, look out the window and snooze.
- I have beautiful and soft hair but I do shed a little bit and I hope my forever family will be okay with that.
- Foster dad says I am a great sleeper. I get to sleep on the bed next to Carlie and I am as quiet as a mouse all night.
- I think I am happiest when I am in a quiet home like this one. The less commotion, the better for Bubba.
- I am used to having another dog in the home with me so I would like that in my new home as well. Unfortunately, I doubt foster daddy would let me take Carlie with me when I go.
- Foster dad says that a physical fence at my new home would be nice because I have a bit of a “wandering eye”, which means I like to run after all the cute-looking squirrels and rabbits that I see.
- I love people. But I can be a little shy at first so it might take me a second to warm up to them. But once I do, look out because I will soon be on my back expecting a nice belly rub!
Well, that is it for now. Foster dad and/or I will send more updates later. Thanks for reading about me!!

Bubba is back!! Beautiful Bubba made the move to his new foster home recently and I’m happy to report that he is adjusting to his new environment quite well. He was a little shy when I first met him but I don’t think he has left my side since. If you don’t like to give belly rubs this might not be the dog for you…..because Bubba loves to roll onto his back and let you tickle him for as long as you’re willing! He has a very fun and affectionate personality. He gets along well with my girl Carlie, too. In fact, if I’m not available to follow around, he’ll follow her around the back yard instead.
He is also very polite. He will come when his name is called (unless distracted by a squirrel or barking dog). He will wait for the okay to jump on the couch, bed or to go outside. He loves car rides. He walks nicely on a leash. He likes to swim. He sleeps great at night, too. He sleeps on the bed with us and I don’t hear a peep out of him all night. Of course, that could just be that I can’t hear him over Carlie’s snoring.
Bubba loves tennis balls! And if they squeak that’s even better. He likes to run after balls that are thrown….and then wait for another to be thrown. If that doesn't happen, he is quite happy to just carry a ball around the yard and house. He has been good when I have been away at work, too. But he is also VERY happy to see me when I come home! It is fun to see him looking out the window watching for me as I pull into the driveway.
Just as he had done at his previous foster home, Bubba has had a couple “accidents” since he has been here but that should be easy to correct. He is a smart boy and is eager to please. I really haven’t had any other issues with him though. But I’m still learning about him and I’m sure I’ll find out more in the coming weeks. He is a special boy and very easy to fall in love with.
Thanks for taking the time to read about Bubba! Also, Bubba and I would like to thank his previous foster family for taking such good care of him!

What exciting news to receive coming back from vacation. Bubba has a sponsor! Bubba’s sponsor wishes to remain anonymous, but we want our thanks to this person to be public. It is because of the generosity of sponsors that RAGOM is able to care for these rescued dogs, re-homing them with very special families. THANK YOU from Bubba and his RAGOM family.

Happy Labor Day Weekend from Bubba. He is having a very lazy weekend-doing nothing but staying around the house and hosting Woody, the Golden-Doodle from across the street while his family is away. Bubba and Woody made fast friends.
Here are a few updates from week 3 with Bubs:
- Round two of antibiotics for his upper respiratory infection and these seem to be working. Much less coughing and sneezing.
- He has gained 3 pounds- now at 54 pounds.
- He now has free roam of the house for his own safety. After being a Houdini and escaping a crate and baby gate area, we felt it safer to have him out. This is important for potential adopters who want to be able to crate/gate. He is well behaved in the house and leaves things alone that are not his, including the resident dog.
- He has had one accident this week with his new free roam status. He never goes while we are home and he doesn’t urinate in the house, so progress.
- During a nighttime storm, he did pant/pace and found a spot behind a chair to lay during the thunder & lightening.
- He loves his squeaky ball and has figured how to make it squeak by rolling on it! He is much more playful.
- He is easy to train-consistent with sit, shake, lay and pretty darn good with stay.
We’ll keep you posted on new experiences for Bubba. What we are learning about him is that it takes a while for him to build trust. Once he does, he is Loving, Gentle & Dedicated, exactly what he needs from his forever home. Enjoy the rest of his pictures.

Here is a quick update on Mr. Bubba. He was “coughing” and sneezing (yuck, dog snot) so his vet started him on an antibiotic. After a couple of days, he became more active-wanting to play some more, so he must be feeling better. This poor guy never had vet care. He would really benefit from a sponsor or two!
In spite of his “sinus infection” he continues to make progress at our house while waiting to go to your house forever.
- He’s learned shake.
- He is better with his gated area and has free roam for a couple of hours.
- His only “accident” was because of a miscommunication between FM and FD. Turned out FD didn’t get home at noon to let him out and FM didn’t let him out when she got home later. He has very subtle signs that he wants out, but we are getting more in tuned with them.
- He discovered ice cream…and he loves it, especially when you stop at DQ for a doggie cup. RIDE and ICE CREAM…whoever thought of that combination was a genius.
- Saturday morning belly rubs in bed are a favorite, but he does sleep on the floor at night.
- Working on guarding his food…he will now “trade” a treat for his Nylabone without any growling and we are “trading” treats for his dog bowl without any problem. I am able to reach down to get his water dish while he is eating and he doesn’t really care. I think his trust level is up and his starvation is down.
- He loves to catch the ball, but has no desire to run after it or bring it back! He and our resident dog are at the same energy level…don’t make me run! They get along great.
Bubba(L) & Loosey - Will growl/bark when there is someone out front or at the door. We are working on “sit” and “quiet” when someone is at the door. He doesn’t jump up, just barks.
- Enjoys his walk- still using a flat collar. He doesn’t have a slack leash, but he doesn’t pull either.
As he is trusts us more, he is more willing to give and receive affection. We are falling for this guy…Wouldn’t he be a great fit in your home?
