Hector 12-238

Profile

Please welcome Hector back to RAGOM!! Handsome Hector made the move to his new foster home recently and I’m happy to report that he is adjusting to his new environment very well. He was quite active when I first brought him home and it didn’t take him long to explore every inch of the house. Once he was done exploring, and checking out resident girl Carlie, he was right by my side and I don’t think he has left it since.

He has a very fun and affectionate personality. He is always happy and his tail is always wagging. He gets along well with Carlie but he seems to be somewhat fascinated by her. I am not sure if that is because he has not lived with many other dogs before and is curious about her or if he just thinks she is really cute. He loves attention. He is an energetic boy who loves to run but he is just as comfortable spending a relaxing evening on the couch watching TV. He will come when his name is called (when not distracted by a deer in the woods out back). He enjoys car rides, although sometimes he needs a little encouragement to climb in. He does pull a bit when on a leash. But he sleeps great at night, usually on the bed with us, and I never hear a peep out of him all night.

I don’t believe he has had much training or many rules in his life, but he is a smart boy who is eager to please (especially if a treat is the reward) so training him should not be too difficult. He knows sit and stay. The concept of shake seems to be new to him but he should have that down in no time, too. His best trick, which I think he taught himself, is standing on his two hind legs. He likes to show off this skill when he gets really excited about his upcoming meal.

Hector really just wants to be your best friend. He is a very special boy who is easy to fall in love with. There will be more to come as I get to know him better. Thanks for taking time to read about Hector!

It is my pleasure to announce that Hector has been adopted! While we are very happy that he is going to a loving home, Carlie and I will greatly miss what a sweet, handsome and sometimes overly-energetic boy he is!

Hey Everybody! It is Hector here to let you know how I am doing and to give you all a little information about me. First of all, I’m doing just great! I love my foster dad and Carlie. I love our trips to the park. I love running around the back yard and tracking mud into the house. I love sleeping next to Carlie and foster dad. I love visiting Grandma. I love rolling around in the snow….whatever is left of it, anyway. I love getting treats. I love to follow foster dad around the house. I enjoy car rides. I am a good watch dog. I love being around people. I love standing on my hind legs. I love to wolf down my food…and then check to see if Carlie has finished hers and left me anything, which she NEVER does. And I love being a RAGOM boy!

I am calm and mild-mannered most of the time, but I occasionally get VERY excited (e.g. meeting a new dog, when the harness comes out for our walk, when it is meal time) and foster dad sometimes has to help me relax a bit. But I am very sweet and incredibly handsome….at least that is what foster dad tells me. He also tells me that I pull like a sled dog when on a leash. But I don’t know what he is talking about because I am usually too busy trying to take in all the sights and sounds outside before the walk ends to even notice. So, if I pull a little, maybe foster dad just needs to walk a little faster and keep up. He’s holding ME back! However, I do know that this is something that he would like to work on with me.

Oh, I should add one more thing. Because I can run like a cheetah and I’m easily distracted by other animals, people and interesting smells, foster daddy thinks it is important that my forever home has a physical fence.

Thanks for reading about me!
