Please join us in welcoming Wolfie to RAGOM! Wolife is such a happy dog, as you can see from his pictures. This dog came to us due to no fault of his own and his owner was very sad to give him to RAGOM, Wolfie is missing him as well. This boy is the calmest we have had, he just loves to lay on FD’s lap or next to him and is truly a Velcro dog. Wolfie LOVES men, he has taken a couple of days to warm up to FM but he would still rather hang with FD. Wolfie has not been around other dogs and so he is not sure how to play with our resident dog, it is fun watching him try to play but he hasn’t quite figured it out yet. Here is what we know about Wolfie so far.

  1. He gets along with cats. Pretty much ignores ours but I can tell he would lay with her if she would let him, and I have seen a picture of him laying with another cat on a dog bed in the past. I will have to find that picture.
  2. He gets along with our resident dog but is really excited when he sees our neighbors small dogs so not sure about that. We are going to take him to Doggy Day Care this week and see what they say.
  3. He has allergies to Grain and so is kept on a special diet. We are going to work with the vet this week as he needs to put a little meat on his bones and that is difficult with his diet.
  4. It would be really great for him to have a fenced in yard as he seems to enjoy being outside.
  5. He would be best in a home with a male human as he is more comfortable with men.
  6. He is house broken but has been marking, this is more due to a new living situation than anything else.

I just can’t say enough about how wonderful this dog is. I can tell how much he was loved and cared for by his SO. He will make a great dog for his furever family!

What a sweetie. As you can see in the pics, he has met most of the immediate neighbors, the important ones anyway. He has marked everything in the back yard at least 4 times, the Hostas will never be the same. I tried to give him the bone that you sent along but he didn't seem interested in it so Hailey (sister) grabbed it and is currently guarding it on her pillow in the dining room.

Yes, we are going to change his name to Willie. Wolfie just didn't roll off the tongue well for us. Sandy is thinking Willie Nelson, I am thinking Willie as in General Patton's dog Willie and as for Willie Wonka...we won't even go there.

Hailey is getting better about having a new brother although she did let him know that the bed was hers but she is down to a low growl, letting him get closer and actually going outside with him.

I took Willie for a walk up to our Vet today, its about 3/4 of a mile each way so good exercise for both of us. He was skeptical about the grain allergy thing but we use grain free anyway so no problem there and as for the spot on his back he suggested putting neosporin on it and see if it clears up. His ears checked out great although he didn't like the scope at all, probably a memory reaction from when he had an infection.

On the way back I found out about the dog obsessiveness, he really wanted to meet a Husky that was out for a walk, I am going to get a gentle leed today, that should help until some training takes effect.

My own 58 lb. lap dog.
Just walked right up and made himself comfortable.

Wolfie would like to say thanks to everyone that came out to Petco this weekend. This was his first event and it was a little stressful with all the dogs since he has not been socialized much. He did love to show everyone his sit, down and rollover and get pets and belly rubs.

Wolfie is meeting a family tomorrow night and they are bringing their resident dog to meet him as well, we will see how they do, we hope it will be a good dog and family meeting.

Wolfie is making great progress and his personality is really coming out. He still clings to his Foster Dad(FD) but is opening up to his Foster Mom(FM). He is learning to play and it is really fun to watch.

He likes to run and hop around our resident dog and our resident dog is not sure what he is doing. He has started to play his version of catch. We throw the ball, he bounds over jumping the whole way to the ball, picks it up then realizes what he did and drops the ball and bats it between his paws. I need to get a video of this!
