I would like to introduce you to Miss Honey, and I must say, she is as sweet as her name. She has had many litters of pups in her life, and is finally done with mass producing puppies. She was surrendered to a local lady that was kind enough to go and get her out of the barn, where she has spent her life. She is really very social with people, and is a velcro girl to both foster mom, and foster dad. The surrendering family had 5 children, and they do spend time with the dogs, so it helped with her being comfortable with people.

Honey went to the vet yesterday, and she was heartworm negative, which I am so happy to report. She got up to date on her shots, and will be spayed in a couple of weeks. She has more than likely, just recently had a litter of pups. It took 3 baths to get her clean, and smelling good. She has been very good with all the new things she has experienced, and is very smart.

We are going on several daily walks with her, and she has done amazingly well. She walks right along side of one of our dogs, and takes cues from them, so I think she will need a home with another dog. She was very happy to see our dogs when we got her home, and the introductions went well.

Honey Bunny will be at the Rochester Petco event on Saturday, so please come and meet her.

Little miss Honey is really loving life now. She has become accustomed to our family lifestyle, and is accepting everyday challenges that she has never had before. She has become friends with people in our neighborhood, and feels much more at ease with them. The treats they give her, certainly make it easier for her to trust them, along with seeing our dogs greeting them. She has been completely housebroken for 3 weeks, she gets very excited when we get ready to go on our walks, she is playing with toys, and plays with our resident dogs. She and Aspen like to find a stick in the yard and play tug with it. Honey came thru her spay surgery in great shape, and didn't even have to wear the dreaded cone of shame. She left the incision alone. We were concerned that Honey may have a urinary infection, and a test confirmed that, so she has been on antibiotics for a week, and has another weeks worth to take. I think she is feeling much better. Honey likes to carry our shoes around the house and has been known to chew on the laces, she also likes to steal socks out of the clothes basket, so she is teaching us to do a better job of putting our things away.

Honey is looking for a family to love her and make her part of their everyday life. If you are looking for a sweet, gentle girl, that will steal your heart, please contact placement.

Dear Diary ; 

I have had another big day today. I have had so many changes in my life over the last week, I can hardly remember when I was living in a barn with all of the other dogs. I had no idea there was so much going on outside. I go on 3 daily walks with my mom and dad, and my foster sisters and brother. And I walk right between foster dad, and Abby. They think I walk really nicely for never having been on a leash before.

When I first got here, I didn’t eat for 2 days because I was so unsure of what was happening to me, but now I figured out how to open the food bin (hee hee).

I went to a RAGOM event last Saturday, and got to meet a LOT of really nice people. My mom said I did an awesome job, and was very proud of me. I am learning what some words mean, like: potty, outside, walk, and my all time favorite “good girl”. The first night I was here, I slept at night in a crate, and the second night I cried because I wanted to be with everyone else. So the third night, I got to sleep on my blanket right next to foster mom and dads bed. I did not make a peep all night. They put a baby gate across the bedroom door, and I totally respect that. Today I was tested to see if I could be loose in the house, and I passed with flying colors. The first time was for about an hour and I did not get into any trouble. Foster mom had to go to a meeting for about 2 hours after she got home from work, so she left me out loose again, and I was “a very good girl”. 

I have an appointment next Wednesday to be spayed (whatever that means). My mom says that it means “ no more puppies!” When I went to the vet last week for my checkup, we brought Remington along for moral support, but I don’t think he can help me out this time.  My life is so full now, as all I did before RAGOM took me in, was lay in my cage, and stare out the front of it, wishing I was out running and playing.
