Bailey 12-050 is a 4 year old female, rust colored pure bred Golden that came to RAGOM last weekend from northern Minnesota. She's a tall girl weighing in at 78 pounds, which may be a couple or three over her ideal weight. Her original family included kids and other dogs, but they unfortunately needed to downsize, so Bailey ended up in a shelter. After a day long car ride, she went right to work that first night meeting everyone, exploring her new home, figuring out which laps are the most comfortable and seeing which of her new people would give her the most attention. Of all the fosters we have had, Bailey made the adjustment the quickest and easiest.

Bailey has been getting along great with our resident pack, even our terrible terrier that loves to boss around the bigger dogs that come live with us. She is house broken, respects baby gates and the fenced in back yard, has not tried to counter surf or get into the garbage. About the only negatives we have found is that she didn't much care for getting her blood draw at the Vet (no surprise there) and she isn't kennel trained. We have to leash her and lead her into the kennel but she seems OK once in it and the door is shut.

We think Bailey would be great as an only dog or with other dogs. She is a bit shy around new dogs but once she gets used to them, she seems fine. The other night we had an overnight visitor, a 1 year old male named Max, from another RAGOM foster. Our resident golden, Bailey, and their new friend Max had a great time playing, running around, chasing each other around the living room and just enjoying each other. When bedtime, Bailey and Max slept in our bedroom on their dog beds. Max was having a hard time adjusting and was pacing and whining. Bailey took notice and went over to lie down with Max, what a sweetie. What we don't know is how Bailey would be with cats or small kids. Older children would probably be OK.

Bailey has that sweet golden personality and is a real lover. She will be a great addition to some lucky family and we expect her to go quickly. What she really needs is someone to get her just a fraction of the love and attention that she gives and she'll be happy. So, if you are interested in her, contact RAGOM placement.
