Mollie (12-044) is about 8 years old, a small, beautiful purebred golden retriever with a thick, long reddish coat, a graying face, and a temperament sweet as pie.She is a recently retired breeding mama who needs, and well deserves, a furever family who will pamper and treat her as a treasured best friend.  She seems to be socialized, and is said to be good with kids.  She is housetrained, crate trained (but also fine with free roam), and has no resource guarding or aggression issues.  Her surrendering owner described Mollie as an alpha female that dominated another female (Maddie 12-045) at her home, and said Mollie is fine with other dogs but does not always get along with Maddie.

When Mollie was spayed recently an ovary tumor was found and removed.  Last week, the vet gave Mollie a clean bill of health.  She weighed 60 pounds, was brought up to date with all vaccinations, and had fecal and blood tests done.  Everything came back normal.

Mollie came to us last week, scared and shy from being transported away from the only life she knew, and into our home.  Gradually, with lots gentle coaxing, she now trusts us, is eating, and is realizing that life here is pretty good.  She still sticks to my side at all times in the house, but enjoys playing 'retrieve the ball or kong' out in the fenced backyard.  We found the key to getting her out of her shell was to throw a ball -- she couldn't resist!  I must give our resident dogs a lot of credit for being models of how to do things around here and to make Mollie feel at home.  She is just now becoming brave enough to take a walk around the block with Foster Dad and the other dogs.  I wish the weather was nicer, so we could just sit out in the front yard and hang, giving her a chance to get used to the new smells.

Our family has fallen deeply in love with Mollie and have decided to adopt her.  Dogs don't come any sweeter and we would be honored to provide the 'golden life' to Mollie for the rest of her years.  We are a 'match made in heaven.'  We plan to continue providing a foster home for RAGOM pups, as well.  If you would like to meet Mollie, she will be at the RAGOM Meet & Greet Event in Duluth at PETCO this Saturday, March 3rd from 12noon to 2pm, along with many other RAGOM dogs still looking to find their furever homes.Hope to see you there!
