Woo hoo! My sister Maggie 12-030 and I got to go on a weekend retreat! We had so much fun. There were two big dogs there. One's name was Bailey and her 11th birthday was Saturday and I think we kinda wrecked it for her because she's not crazy about cute little puppies like us. We jumped on her and she growled at us - can you believe it? Luckily there were plenty of other things to do so after Bailey growled at us we just stayed away from her. The other dog was Josie (Lacey 09-048) and she was a lot of fun, she showed us all kinds of new things. Sometimes Josie got the zoomies and that kind of freaked us out because she's so big compared to us. When she zoomed we just huddled down and made ourselves small until she stopped. Once Josie returned to normal speed we liked to follow her around.
We spent a ton of time out in the yard exploring, hiking, and checking out the lake. If we started to wander too far the peeps here would just say "PUPPIES!" in a happy voice and we would come running lickety-split. When we got tired we'd start leaning on each other with droopy eyes and the peeps would put us in a crate for a nap. When we woke up Maggie sounded the alarm and the peeps would quick take us out for a potty break. I'm happy to report that we kept our crate clean and didn't have a single accident in the house! Of course we spent a lot of time outside so that really helped. And the peeps here never let us out of their sight so the minute we stopped playing and started circling they'd wisk us outside to do our business. Boy did we get a lot of praise when that happened.
We were very good sleepers. After all of that fresh air we were exhausted at night. They had a rule that goes "never wake a sleeping baby" but both nights we slept for over nine hours and the peeps had to break the rule and wake us up in the morning!
There were a few things I really enjoyed doing on my retreat. I loved to go for walks. But I didn't like to walk on the easy path, I liked to do some brush busting and use my nose on my walks. My nose went to the ground and my tail went round-and-round like a helicopter blade when I brush busted! And no problem if I bumped into some thick stuff, I just worked my way right through it. Loved it!
I loved to carry things too. It didn't have to be anything special, a stick or even a clump of dirt would do. I carried a clump of weeds all of the way home on one of our walks. I pranced and held my head up high when I carried stuff.
And dig - boy did I like to dig! Luckily it was no problem for me to dig in the sand by the lake. I had the perfect stance and could send the sand sailing! I dug a big hole and then tricked Maggie - I finished my hole and then ran away from it. When she tried to chase me she fell right into the hole - boy was that funny!
They said I was a quiet girl, not a peep out of me. I was also a little more cautious than my sister, I always let Maggie try the new stuff first. If I heard a new noise that I wasn't sure of, like the guy here raising the extension ladder, I'd find a peep to sit by and I'd simply watch until I figured out all was safe. And then I'd go investigate.
I have to have a little surgery this week and then I get to move in with my furever family! I know they're going to love me!
