Cody 11-393

Profile

Cody is a one year old golden retriever, he looks like a purebred to me.  Cody is the most unusual one year old puppy that I have ever come into contact with.  He is respectful of things that aren't his.  He has been with us for 3 days, he hasn't picked up a shoe, remote, sock or anything else that isn't a toy.  He is a very tall, lean boy but doesn't counter surf, he doesn't get in the garbage, he is just a happy fellow.  Cody was surrendered to RAGOM because he killed the neighbors cats when they entered his yard.

At the present time, Cody is living with us and our two golden retrievers who are old, one male and one female.  He has taken a liking to the female, he thinks she's hot and she thinks she is a diva princess so it works for her.  Cody doesn't play with the other dogs, he prefers to play fetch, fetch and fetch.. yesterday we were outside playing frisbee and he was having troubles picking the frisbee up when the lip was turned down... so after our playtime he brought the frisbee in the house and decided to chew one edge of it so he would be able to flip the frisbee when the lip side was down.. he is very smart, he was also playing ball in the house by bouncing the ball against the wall and retrieving it.  Now, how many dogs are out there who do that?  I've never seen this sport before and I was totally amazed.

Cody is house trained, no accidents, he loves to come over and put his paws on my lap then move them up to my shoulders, nuzzle my neck and give me a kiss.  He is large, meaning tall and lean but very gentle.  He takes treats nicely, he sleeps like a trooper and is just a very nice dog.

Cody did resource guard his toys from the other furr butts on two different occasions but I believe it was maybe stress from being moved around or he just wasn't sure about them.  However, now he knows they are not going to touch the toys when he has them out and seems content with them.  Cody does not resource guard food or toys from humans.

In addition to all of these great attributes Cody also knows some commands, sit, stay, lay down, shake and high five.

I hope to have some nice pictures of him but every time I try to take some pictures they are blurry because Cody's tail is always wagging.
