Jasmine is a 5 to 7 year old female being fostered in Inver Grove Heights.
Jasmine is one of three dogs that came from a puppy mill. She has spent her whole life having babies and living in not such a good place. No more babies for this girl.
She is a purebred GR. When she first came here she was very dirty and had matted fur. She has had a few baths and a lot of combing which she seems to like. She is very gentle and very quiet. She is still very scared and spends most of her time in her crate, we leave the door open but she does not come out very often. Her health is OK, she has a few problems. She has hook worms and a fractured tooth. The biggest problem she has is that she is so big. She is not a tall dog but her weight is 97.3 pounds. She will need to lose some weight before she can get spayed. She is about 27 pounds overweight. When she is at a safe weight she will be spayed and get her tooth pulled.
We take small walks every day and are trying to build up her stamina. She loves to walk and does not pull, in fact she does a bit of leaning on my leg. She stays very close.
She is not eating very well, but we will give her the time she needs to feel comfortable. Jasmine will not be able to go to he forever home until she is spayed and we can’t do that until she loses some weight. We are working on that.
Jasmine is fine around children but the little ones scare her, they move so fast and are a bit loud for her liking. She is a beautiful girl that needs time to learn how to be a dog.
