Dear RAGOM,

We adopted Lady in September 2011. After almost eight years of being our sweet, loyal canine companion, we are very sad to let you know we had to put Lady down unexpectedly on July 25, 2019.

Lady had a tumor on her right atrium, rupture and bleed within the pericardium. She experienced pericardial effusion which caused her heart to not work properly. Our vet worked diligently to stabilize her, but was unsuccessful. The team of doctors and techs gave their all for Lady, but we were left to make that difficult decision to let her cross the Rainbow Bridge in peace.

Lady was the best walking partner and we were always so proud to be holding the other end of her leash. Time spent at the cabin will be cherished memories. Lady loved her boat rides (she had her own seat), swimming, hanging out in the gazebo, retrieving her tennis balls, and welcoming visitors with lots of love.

We will miss the nose nudges for some love and attention, the paw on our foot or leg while we were watching TV, her nose on our lap, and her happy, energetic spirit.

We would like to thank RAGOM for allowing us to take Lady into our home. She brought us so much joy and love in the short time she was with us. Our memories and stories will keep her alive in our hearts.

Run Free Sweet Ladybug!

Original Initial Bio:

Welcome Lady! Our petite red Golden Retriever has been with us for only 2 days, but it is easy to see that she is a lover!!

Lady was rescued by a Good Samaritan who then turned her over to Ragom. Apparently the original owners had no time for Lady and she spent most of her days kenneled in the furnace room. The GS realized that this was no life for a pup so full of energy and starving for love. She also realized that she couldn't keep Lady. Many thanks to her for contacting Ragom. We will find the perfect forever home that Lady deserves.

We are still waiting for the medical records to arrive. We will be taking Lady to a vet this week for her checkup and to get her micro chipped. I just wanted to get her picture out to everyone and to let you know what I do know about her.

Lady is a bundle of ENERGY and is loving her freedom! She is 2 years old, going on 3 in November. She has been spayed.

I don't know if she is UTD on her shots. She knows her name and has great recall. She follows the lead of the residents who have totally accepted her. I understand she is not house trained, but she has not had any accidents for us so far. She goes outside and does her business and is ready to come back indoors.

At night we do kennel her until we can be sure she won't get into anything. She goes in readily and we don't hear a peep out of her. Of course, the residents are sleeping close by so she is not alone. During the day she is outside playing with the residents in our fenced yard and is ready to settle in at night.

I'm guessing Lady to be about 50- 60#. She has such a pretty feathering but I'm having a hard time getting a snapshot as she wants to be near me when I want her farther away for the picture. (Did somebody say sticktight???)

Lady will be available for adoption after her vet appointment. I will update you as soon as I know more. Please contact your placement advisor if you would like to meet our little Lady.
