Here’s Goose!

Goose is a 6 month old, 30 lb, Golden retriever/Border collie mix.  He is full of energy, cute as a button, and has a very sweet personality.  He is neutered and up to date on his shots.

He was surrendered due to SO long hours of work and she felt Goose would be better off with a family not putting in so many hours away from home.

Here is what I’ve learned about Goose since he has been in my home:

He is a busy puppy.

You need to remove all things you don’t want chewed.

He loves bones, empty soda bottles, and the Kong with peanut butter.

He also loves toilet paper on the roll, shoes, squirrels, and socks.

He has a white blaze on his chest and front paws, knows how to sit, shake, and come (kind of).  He loves to play ball and tug of war.  He was amazed by the airplanes flying over my house (I live in So. Minneapolis).

He loves car rides, people, and other dogs that will play with him, and is cat friendly (he lived with 2 cats).  He is not much of a barker.

I think he is too puppyish for small children, but was fine with my 10 year old nephews.

I confine him in the kitchen during the work day and at night.  He does well.

I’m working on his manners.  With his SO he has been to doggie day care, dog parks and beginning obedience training.

I think Goose will be a wonderful addition to a family who wants to exercise, take him places and spend time with him.

Since I only have one more day left of sitting for my goosey, I thought I'd share some pictures of his time here...

Wingman here – Boy am I loving this weather!
I have been playing in the yard every night.
I like to dig a little, but FM says NO!
I met a friend Kira, and we have been playing every night.  She’s 10 months, so we like to wrestle and run.
I am also learning that it’s OK to be in the back yard by myself a little.  But I prefer FM with me.
This weekend we will visit FM’s brother and he has 2 boys, Jazz, a 10 month Gordon Setter, and they live in the country!
Sounds like fun to me.  FM says I have to sleep in the kennel, should be OK with me.
I sleep through the night but one night I heard something and boy did I bark!  FM said it was ok.  I really don’t bark much so she knew I heard something.
I’m ready for my forever home and if I sound like someone you would like as your wingman, contact your placement advisor.
