Anna-banana, we affectionately call her, is 8 yrs old, but hardly acts her age. She is playful and just plain fun! She is "personality plus" and we have really enjoyed fostering her up here in Blaine, MN.
Anna is a deep red in color and her fur is soft and curly. The only clue to her age is some gray on her muzzle. She is smaller framed and if she wasn't such a chow hound, she would probably weigh around 50-55 pounds. But it is really hard to resist her when she asks to lick your plate. So, she is currently on a diet. She loves to chase the ball around the back yard and play tug with us or our resident dog, so with a few months of this, she should have her girlish figure back. She is totally healthy in every other way. Good teeth and no problems known with ears.

She can be quite talkative at times. Not much of a barker, but more a growler while wiggling her bum and wagging her tail. We discuss politics and religion, and she always agrees with me. But I suspect that her attempts at conversation have been misunderstood at times, thus she has a "snarky" rap sheet coming into RAGOM's care. But we have not had even one episode of ill humor from her since she has been with us. She just goes with the flow and has adapted to our family routine like a trouper. I suspect her reported previous behavior has nothing to do with her true nature, and alot to do with the circumstances into which she was placed......and if she goes to the right home and feels safe and loved, she will continue being the wonderful pet she has shown herself to be while living with us. She is smart and sweet and fun-loving, and will NEVER turn down a chance for a belly scratch. Just say "roll over" and she JUMPS to assume the scratching position. She walks well on a leash...no pulling... ....most of the time. When nothing better presents itself, she is happy to lie down and take a nap until things get more lively. She is a very easy dog to foster. She shares very well with our resident dog and has no problems with food, treats or toys. She is very gentle when she takes food from your hand. She just does not have any significant bad habits.

Families with small children would not be a good fit for Anna. She has not had the best experiences with small children in her previous life... But older children, who could give her the respect she deserves as a valued member of the family would be great. I also think she would adapt well to a family with another dog that wasn't too alpha, but could stand up for itself. She does great with our resident dog....I also think she would flourish as a single dog in a family that had time during the day to be with her. She just loves to follow you around or lay beside you while you are working at your desk or sitting in a chair. You would make her day if you took her for a ride in the car. She is wonderful in the car. She looks out the window quietly or lies down and sleeps. I really have nothing bad to say about this dog! She is a wonderful family dog, that just needs that family back ino her life. Are you that family? Come and visit, and see for yourself what a gift this dog would be to your family this holiday season.
