Gizmo arrived from South Dakota to St Paul after a long drive. The first day he was a bit nervous but by the morning of the second day and after a good nights sleep, there was a fresh bounce to his step and he is completely at ease. He is a sweet dog who loves people, other dogs, and kids. He has met all three so far and he happily goes to them when he sees them.

He is a big dog at about 95 lbs. Although it wouldn't hurt him to loose a little weight, he has a big frame and stands pretty tall. He does not like gun shots so would NOT be a good hunting dog. He would be great with a family with kids, cats, and probably would be a good therapy dog. He is very interested in what we humans are eating but we have him on a quality dog food and heathly snacks.

We have already fallen in love with this guy and would be a great dog for a family.

Gizmo did great at his vet appointment. Clear eyes, good sounds in his lungs and heart, good flexibility in all legs and best of all heartworm free.  His only problem is the classic Golden Retriever ear infections in both ears. We left with cleaner and medicine drops. Gizmo really doesn’t like that but now he is up-to-date with all his shots.
 
His getting more relaxed and quite happy at his foster home. We are currently reviewing a number of applicants so if interested, be sure to let Placement know.
