Happy St. Patrick's Day Everyone!  My name is Zoe and I am new to the RAGOM Family.  I joined my foster family last Saturday March 12th, and have been having a great time getting to know my foster sisters, both of whom are goldendoodles too as well as their cousins, a small mini-doodle and golden lab.

Let me tell you a little about myself.  I am 9 1/2 month old female and was born on May 29, 2010.  I am 32 pounds and 21 inches tall at my shoulders.  FM thinks I am really a mini-doodle as I am quite a bit smaller than the other doodles here, but hey, that makes me really portable and easier to control.  I am VERY outgoing, confident and love new places and adventures.  I have been to Chuck & Don's and even helped behind the counter (Hmm, a proper application of counter surfing...).  If I could learn to run a cash register, I bet they'd give me a job!  I've been to a number of other houses to meet more dogs and even a cat.  At one house, I did get into a little tangle with my new friend Maggie, but we got over it quickly.  I think with the five of us dogs all excited, we both over reacted a bit.  After that, we were all cool and no hard feelings. I kinda did that to my new foster sisters when I first met them, but after 15 minutes, we were all chasing each other in the back yard.  I also met Poco, the dog-savvy test cat.  At first I wanted to lunge and play with him.  Then I got to get up close and personal and I kissed him all over his face and was trying to get him to play.  He wasn't up for that.  As he ran away, I would have followed, but someone threw a soft toy past me so I went for that instead.

I came from a loving family that also had a 5 year old goldendoodle and 3 human kids, ages 10, 7, and 4.  I was surrendered because they didn't have enough time for me.  I am a very loving dog and like to wrestle with big dogs.  I have lots of puppy energy too.  During the work-day I am in a crate and do just fine.  One of my foster sisters is in a crate too because she's a chewer.  At lunch, Uncle Chip comes over for lunch to play with us outside and we just love that.  Then we kennel back up and get food-stuffed Kong toys until FM gets home.   Then it is wrestle-mania until bedtime.  Check out me and Lilly trading secrets.

I do have a issue with jumping-up on people when I am really excited when someone comes home, but am working to correct that.  There must be springs in my feet cause I can jump really high.  My foster home has a fenced in yard and I love the freedom of running around.  At my previous home I was on a tie out, but like this so much more as I have a lot of energy to burn in my puppyhood.  I sleep really well with all of the exercise I am getting.

Riding in the car is a big thrill.  I am very attentive and taking in all of the sights and sounds, quietly, I might add.  At home, I do bark if I hear a doorbell or dog bark on the TV.  FM thinks it is funny that I can't tell the difference between that and the real doorbell.   I take treats very gently and am a good eater and have learned to sit and wait for my food.  I do not resource guard my food or toys, as we all have to share in this house.  We even drink from the water bowl at the same time. Though I can be a bit mischievous and will try and steal a bone from Lilly when I get the chance. Here is a Victory shot.

I am housebroken, but did have a couple of accidents my first day or two here.  But I know the program now.  I will go to the door and give a little whine to go out.  My foster sisters are teaching me to me bark to go outside as that is easier for FM to hear than a little whine.

I went to the vet tonight to get checked out by Dr. G.  I was updated on a couple of shots and given heartworm and fecal tests and also a microchip. Those results will be back in a day or two.  I also have a double ear infection so will be on meds for the next 14 days to get that resolved and I am scheduled to have my spay surgery next week.  FM is wondering how to keep me calm during my recovery...hmmm.

Things I would like in my forever home:

-- Someone to take me to obedience school. I am a very quick learner, but need some improvement to stop jumping and counter surfing.  I know how to sit on command, but stay is a bit challenging for me at the moment.  I have pretty good recall and come when called too.

-- A yard to run around in.  I would prefer a fence.

-- Someone committed to my active lifestyle and will take me lots of places to keep me socialized.  Summer is coming and lots of places have free concerts in the park, so I'd love to go along!

-- Another dog to play with would be great.  He or she would need to be playful and confident as well.  I might be a bit too much for a really timid dog or dog that does not like to play.  Also someone close to my size or bigger.

-- The opportunity to hang out with you on the couch to watch TV and even snuggle in bed in the morning.

-- A commitment to keep me looking good.  I love to be groomed and will require haircuts as my hair keeps growing.  I am a low-shed/no-shed model, so that's a bonus!

So if you are interested in meeting me, contact your placement advisor.  I am one great little girl.

Hi Everyone - Zoe here with some Wonderful News.  I was adopted last Thursday night!

I have a new mom and a big golden retriever furr-butt brother named Zach, so I am over-the-moon ecstatic to have someone to play with everyday.  We get along great and we play a lot.  Though I am going to have to try and help my new brother get over his storm anxiety.  I tried to engage him in play during the storm yesterday but he was not having any of that.  He was glued to mom like a blanket on a cold winter's night.  But hopefully in time, I can help him in some way because storms and fireworks don't even phase me one bit.

Here is a picture of me and my brother Zachary.  Zach for short.

Thank you RAGOM for taking me in March and finding me a new home.  Though my first placement with a super nice family did not work out, I feel that this is my new permanent home.  I just needed another pup to play with because I am so highly social.  I will be continuing on my obedience training with my mom and am sure that very soon I will have my issues corrected.

My new mom is also a RAGOM Fostermom so I am sure in the future there will be fosterdogs in our house so I can help them transition to a new home like my fostersisters helped me.  I am also living close to my fostermom and fostersisters so I will get to see them for playdates too.  I think I won the lottery!

Well, I am off to go steal whatever Zach is playing with.

Lots of Love and Appreciation,

Zoe

Hi Everyone,

Just a couple of quick pictures of the group hanging out.  We do everything together, as our motto is "Yeah, just try and leave someone out.  How is THAT working for you?!"

Here we were all cleaned up after playing in the hose cuz it was so darn hot out.  We do love being groomed and pampered and everything.  I try and be patient to wait my turn up on the grooming table, but half the time I have my front feet up there trying to bite at the air from the dog dryer while one of my foster-sisters is being pampered.

Here we were just haning out watching the neighbor do yardwork with some noisy equipment.  Sure glad none of that stuff makes me nervous. Another bonus is I could care less about fireworks, even when the next door neighbor was blowing them off!

Bye for now.  Hope this heat wave breaks soon as I feel the need for some running around!

Hi Zoe fans, bet you've been wondering about me.  Well, I have some great news.  I have found my forever family!  I will be going to them very soon, I just have a couple of quick medical issues to get resolved and then it is onward and upward!  So for now, I'll just be hanging out with my foster sisters enjoying the beautiful spring weather.

FM is REALLY glad that it is finally drying up outside.  Last weekend there were 7 baths to be had because we kept getting all muddy outside.  We really torn up the yard too, so FM is going to have some big lawn repair chores soon.

Here we are just hanging out after a long play session, snoozing to the gentle sounds of the robins singing and the woodpecker drilling away at the next door neighbor's tree.  This is the life!

I've been keeping busy now that my spay incision is all healed up.  I love, love, LOVE running and wrestling with the big dogs. I can't get enough of it.  Tomorrow their cousins (another goldendoodle shorter than me) and a golden lab are coming to play for the afternoon.  It's gonna get CRAZY!  FM says that is ok because then I will sleep really well.  I did have 3 nights in a row when I got her up at 4 am to go outside, so she's thankful I am back to sleeping all night.

And I've heard a rumor that my new family is going to come over this weekend to spend some time with me too.  I can't wait for that!  The more the merrier I say!

See you later!

Zoe

Golden in Spirit! From Anonymous Golden in Spirit! From Anonymous

Tuesday, March 22, 2011

Hi Zoe Fans!

Good news, my heartworm test came back negative!  Yeah for me!  However, I do have a pesky little intestinal parasite called Coccidia, for which I am on a 10 day course of Alban to clear that right up.  But I'm not complaining, because I get my meds in a spoonful of peanut butter.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, I go into the body shop for my surgery.  I'll be back at home on Thursday, raring to go and play.  FM says I won't be able to wrestle with Lilly quite so hard as I am in this picture until my incision heals up.

A couple of other things to tell you about me.  I love being outside, no matter what the weather.  Today is a super rainy cold day, and it does not phase me one bit.   (FM worked at home yesterday and today so we are getting lots of outside time too.)  However, this muddy weather has caused me to have 4 baths in 2 days.  But, I really don't mind that either, especially since I get the warm water baths and getting towel dried is fun.  I am even good with the dog hair dryer that is super powerful and blows the water off of my hair.  Lilly is quite the baby about it and runs and hide, so FM is trying to show her how good it is by using me as a demonstration model.  I'm sure Lilly will come around.

And I'm sure Kraelyn will get more hair dryer time this weekend when it is her turn for a haircut!  Geez, she sure needs one...I can't even find her face!  Here you can kinda see how much bigger she is than me (she's got almost 40 pounds on me), so I bet I won't get much bigger than 40 pounds full grown.

I also love to be in the same room as my humans no matter where the other dogs may be hanging out.  I bond with people very easily too because I am pretty easy going that way.  Well, I'm off to go play for rest of the day.  I'll give you the 411 after I get back from my overnight at the vet.  Keep your paws crossed for a quick and easy surgery.

Zoe
