Miss Cody is an 8 year old friendly, loveable senior girl. She a lovely red-gold color with curly fur. When she was surrendered she needed to be groomed as she had lots of matted fur. She also was wearing a choke collar that was much to tight for her. She is being treated for ear infections and worms. She had been free fed and needs to lose about 15 or 20 pounds. She is on a diet and will be getting more activity to help her reduce. She rides beautifully in the car which is good as she had a long ride from Sioux Falls to Robbinsdale today. She was surrendered because the previous owners got a new puppy. Cody was not happy about having a puppy pester her. Cody's condition indicates a lack of care, so I think that there is more to the story than a new puppy.

Cody LOVES,LOVES,LOVES attention. She was so excited to meet me that she was whimpering and crying with happiness. She has been panting a lot, but I think it is just stress. She was in boarding before she came to my house, so she has had a lot of big changes in the last week. She wants a bit of space from my resident dogs. She gives a growl if they crowd her too much. They are respecting her need for space so everything is calm. No conflicts.

As I get to know her better I will be updating her page. From what I see so far Cody would be a great dog for a family who have time to give her the love and attention that she deserves. She has lived with cats and is good with children. She is a BIG LOVER!

She was the best dog that anyone ever could have wanted.

My son and I adored her.

Cody went over the Rainbow Bridge in August. She was diagnosed with metastatic anal gland tumor earlier this year. She remained cheerful and happy right up until the final weekend of her life when her condition took a drastic turn and I brought her to the vet.

We have been grieving her and it still seems sometimes like I’ll come home and she’ll be there wagging her tail.
