Hey everyone, it's me Murphy. I'm hanging out at my foster home with a couple of cool labs and a nice foster mom while I wait for my new family to find me. I've had a busy and stressful few weeks so I'm happy to chill out, rest, eat some good food and get as much love and attention as I can. Foster mom says I'm adorable and a perfect house guest so far. I'm not sure what all that means as I'm just being my handsome good guy self. I'll let foster mom tell my story as I just got home from the car repair shop....had to supervise unexpected repairs to foster mom's truck and had to hang out with the repair staff. Guess what, they all love me and one guy really, really, really wanted to take me home. He's even from my home town in North Dakota. Foster mom told him about the RAGOM process and he's going to apply....foster mom says I won't be around that long but there are lots of other great guys (and gals) like me so it will all work out. Ok, got to go take a nap, a dog bed is calling my name. Dreaming of my forever family......is that you out there?? Oh, and before I drift off to sleep, thanks to all the RAGOM folks who helped me and Mabel 10-283, you guys all get Gold stars in my book!!

Foster mom here. Wow, where do I start with Murphy? He is so adorable and so well behaved, just an absolute dream of a dog. I can only think this guy is meant to find a very special family and has an extraordinary life ahead of him. Murphy arrived in foster care late last week from a shelter in the 7th largest city in North Dakota. He came in with his sister, Mabel 10-283. Our RAGOM vet guesses Murphy to be no older than 2 but since he was found as a stray that is only an estimate. He is 56 pounds, but should weigh 65. Murphy is a Golden Retriever mix; what he is mixed with, will be a conversation starter for sure. What ever the mix, he is so adorable with very cute ears that seem too small for his head but make him look so sweet and cute. Speaking of those adorable ears, he is the first foster dog I've had that does not have an ear infection....must be those little perky ears. He received a clean bill of health from the doctor and is now up to date medically. He is a gorgeous blond with a long, wispy type coat. His personality is pure Golden as is his spirit and soul. Murphy is one of those rare calm, go anywhere, do anything kind of guys as was apparent tonight as he hung out at the car repair shop for 3 hours. He was the perfect gentleman, hung out, got pets from everyone, and took a nap. One of the repair guys really wanted to take him home on the spot, but that's not how it works, so he will have to apply. Murphy walks like a dream on a flat collar, gets along with all dogs, met the neighbor children as if he had known them his entire life and has perfect house manners. He earned free run of my house within two hours of walking in the door, sleeps on a dog bed in my bedroom without a peep and has not had a single accident. I have to think he was a family dog before being found as a stray in Jamestown, ND. Murphy will be neutered on Friday and will then be ready to start the search for his forever home. I don't think he needs a fenced yard or another dog in his new home. He's very mellow and gentle, so we can talk about children and cats.

Contact your placement adviser if Murphy sounds like a fit for your family. He'll be at Ollu on Sunday October 3rd from 11 am to 1 pm.

Hi everyone, it's me Murphy and I have the best news ever. I found my forever family and am now on my way to my forever home!! I am so lucky, I have a mom and an 8 year old human sister. I have a huge backyard and it is fenced with a 6 foot high privacy fence. My new mom says there are lots of white squirrels for me to chase and a few rabbits that I need to get rid of so they don't eat her flowers. I will be very happy to take care of both of these jobs....can't wait to get started. My new mom can work from home as she wants so I won't have to stay alone everyday while she is at work. Both my mom and my new sister love to go for walks, so we will be walking a lot, which I love, love, love. Mom says lots of people want to meet me but she told them they have to wait a few days so I can settle in. She's going to stay home with me for the first few days so I can feel comfortable in my new home. They already bought me toys and treats and my new sister wants me to sleep with her. Am I a lucky boy or what? Well, I got to go and say goodbye to Rocco and Jimmie and foster mom, boy I'll miss those guys but my new mom says we will stay in touch and will have play dates once I'm settled in....how cool is that?? I think I struck gold when RAGOM took me in....thanks everyone for helping me and my sister Mabel. Foster mom says she will let me know who adopts Mabel and maybe we can see each other again sometime, I sure hope she gets as lucky as me. Thank you RAGOM for giving me a chance at living the Golden life.

Foster mom here: Murphy is indeed one very lucky boy. His new family is everything a foster family could wish for. Murphy's mom is an experienced dog owner and is very committed to doing what is right for Murphy. His human sister is very sweet and loving and so hopes Murphy will sleep with her. He will be an only dog, at least for now, so he will get all the attention he missed out on during his few years. They will take Murphy to obedience school and will give him plenty of exercise. His new back yard is huge, 1/2 acre and is fenced with a privacy fence so he will be safe and secure. His mom has a flexible job that allows her to work from home so he will not have to stay alone each and every day. It couldn't get much better than this for lucky boy Murphy.

Dear sweet Mr. Murphy, have a wonderful, golden life with your new forever family. I am so happy I was able to meet you and help you find your people. You are a very special guy and I know you will have the best possible life a guy can have. I wish you and your new family many golden adventures and a long happy life. Rocco and Jimmie are already looking forward to play dates and I am looking forward to hearing about your life with your new family. Miss you already....foster mom, Jimmie and Rocco.

Hi everyone, it's me Murphy. I've had a busy week meeting many new dogs and people, having visitors and attending several events, they were all fun and I had a good time. On Friday I spent the day at the doctor and got "fixed". I felt funny for most of the day but foster mom said I'd feel better in just a few hours and I did. I'm still being a good boy, did lift my leg in the house twice, and foster mom told me that's not acceptable, so I need a few reminders on manners but I'm a lot better than those young pups are. I'm really smart too, as I can climb a 4 foot chain link fence. I took myself for a run around the neighborhood but came right back and walked to the fence gate and then in the house like I knew exactly where I was going. Foster mom was happy to see me, but now I have to be on a leash in the back yard as she says she can't trust me to not climb the fence and take myself for a walk. I love walks and would love to run or jog with someone....is that you? Rocco says there's a squirrel in the backyard, got to go.

Foster mom here. Murphy is a big love, just a sweet, sweet boy. He attended two RAGOM events this weekend and met people and dogs of all ages and sizes. He did well with all. He also had two fosters stop by for a visit and I'm happy to report that he is foster tested and approved. Thanks Mari and Christi. His neuter surgery went fine, no issues at all. He is leaving his surgical site alone so he does not have to be a cone head as he recovers. He's doing fine with several walks per day, since he has to be leashed as he recovers from his surgery and because he is able to climb my 4 foot chain link fence. This means that Murphy will need either a 6 foot high (or higher) privacy fence or no fence at all. Since he was a stray I'm not sure how an in-ground fence would work and he will need someone who is committed to working with him to prevent escapes. I think Murphy would be fine with children 8 years or older. He's met my neighbors children ages 6, 4 and almost 2. He did very well with them but I would worry about him accidentally knocking over toddlers. Murphy is a big snuggler, loves to snuggle in the bed in the morning and at night, I think he is making up for all the attention he missed out on prior to coming into RAGOM.

More from Murphy in a day or too, he's meeting a family so he's really getting close to living the Golden life as he should.
