Sunny 10-225

Profile

Sunny is a beautiful medium gold colored Golden Retriever.  He is approximately 1.5 years old and about 55 lbs.  He was on a tie out and not given the exercise he needs to build his muscle and fill out so he still has some  growing to do.  I believe he was in a loving home at one time and does not display any ill effects from his last home.  I have had him a week today and this is what I know about him. HousebrokenSleeps in a crate in the bedroom all night without a peep.  Willing goes into his crate during the day for up to four hours.  Gets along great with cats and dogs.Does not get on the furniture. Is learning to walk nicely by your side with a buckle collar.Loves to rip up his squeaky toys. Loves kids but we are working on his jumping up.  I would suggest children eight and older so they wouldn't get knocked down.He loves to retrieve tennis balls and has a soft mouth. No storm anxieties or guarding issues with people.   He will guard a chew bone from other dogs.He loves his kiddie pool. Sunny's perfect family would be one that is committed to daily exercise.   A walker or runner or biker  to drain his energy in the morning before he is crated and a walk at night.  He would make a wonderful dog for someone who would like to do competitive obedience he catches on fast and really enjoys the contact.  In time when he is older and not full of so much energy he would make a wonderful therapy dog.  He loves everyone, he has a true Golden personality.

Just when I thought that Sunny was perfect......he just could not resist the open peanut butter jar on the kitchen counter and helped himself.  I could hear  licking from the kitchen and sure enough he was helping him self to his favorite snack.  I guess I can add counter surfer to his credits.  All in all he is a wonderful boy and I forget he is a young teenager.   We are still working on jumping on people and learning the basic commands.  He has sit down pretty good but lay down....not happening yet.
