Jackie born 2/20/04 weighs in at 70 lbs. Her vet determined she is NOT PG, and her temp is normal, her ears are terrible and require a different ear wash and medicine for 4 weeks or more to clear up the yeast and all that was found.  Her stool had pinecone in it, on medication for diarrhea.  She is not too keen on eating yet.  She has a split top k-9 tooth that is going to need to be pulled while she is under for her spay that is set now for Thursday.

WOW, I think Jackie has a fan club and if you meet her you would know why. Thanks to all who sponsor her, she has come along way. Had a great Christmas and got new animal spotted soft toys and ham bones from the kids. A fellow foster Anna 10-368 came to stay with us for awhile and Ms Jackie thought she had too much energy, But tolerated her well. Jackie has no food aggression she waits for My resident dog, cat and Anna to finish eating before she would even attempt to go to the food bowl. Still waits for me and other animals to come in the doorways before she enters. Such a sweetie, You would have to meet her and pet her to get the full effect of her love for her humans.

Jackie had a great Halloween, trick or treating in the neighborhood, everyone knows her well now and she accepted pets from lots of people, she is such a love bug. She has made lots of doggie friends at the neighborhood  picnic, see the WELCOME PUMPKIN. We visited my mom in Eden Prairie she has a young lab, in which I noticed she has little tolerance for, being a retired mom of many. She mostly watched in the background and did not want to participate in this form of puppy play. She put her foot down as all good moms do by barking, My moms puppy would lay on her back. My mom says I been trying to get that reaction from her for months. As of now she is still doing well with my cat Harrison. Hope to meet a forever family for this sweet girl soon.

Unfortunately down here in Southern MN we have been through the ultimate test of thunderstorms and floods. Miss Jackie has hardly recovered from the last one and then another comes along. She attempted and accomplished to fit in spaces I thought she could never fit. She emptied out a corner in my closet and covered her self up with clothes and blankets, she was so stressed and upset she had the runs. Poor thing... After that night there was another storm predicted, so I took her to the vet and they prescribed a sedative to give before a storm. It worked like a charm. She slept through the whole storm and caught up on much needed sleep. Vet suggested a product called Calmpet that is a holistic approach which will calm her but not knock her out and can be given earlier, within a day of when you know it may storm, for those concerned that they are at work and not home when a storm approaches.

We went to Chuck and Don's to visit old and new doggy friends and new human friends. She had a bath and she liked it, she loves soap massages and loofahs as you can see.

Jackie is now in Owatonna MN. Her new foster family consists of my husband, myself and a 10-year-old girl. We have frequent visiting grandchildren, ages 1-6, a resident dog Buddy and cat Harrison.

Jackie is in love with my 10 yr old and Jackie is manageable for my daughter to walk her on a leash. She does not pull, a matter of a fact she lets us do all the leading. She waits for us humans to go into doorways first, she does not jump up on the adults or small people. I think sometimes she has magic powers because in my eyeshot she will be in the other room and then somehow she is right in back of me. I call her "Jeep" from the Popeye cartoons.

When she first got here she paid little to no attention to my cat... but suddenly she thought he would be a good snack. So I would not recommend her around cats. She does not need a fence, does well on a tie out and does not leave your side.

She has a bit of a urinary tract infection. Doc said probably because she has some skin irritation due to the topical iodine from her spay. She had some adverse reaction from Augmentin, she had vomited, so we changed the antibiotic and now working fine. She initially had some urine accidents - small spots on the carpet, but since treatment for UTI she has been better.

She mothers every stuffed animal she can get her mouth on, she chews on her chew bone, she loves the water.

If you are interested in a dog that is easy to train, loving and not jumpy, Jackie is your girl.

Jack-Jack is settling into our home and doing great! Her energy level has really increased and I even saw her bound across the yard with that happy Golden gait. She is really starting to show her personality. I have noticed that she is carrying her head a little higher and is gaining confidence each day. She is also starting to take notice of the other golden in the house. They haven’t started to play yet but there has been some interaction that leads me to believe Jackie would do well in a house that has another dog. Once she figures out how to act like a dog and how to do dog things, I think they will be good friends. The guarding of the toys has stopped. And the two dogs are learning their boundaries. Jackie just needed some time to feel comfortable in her new surroundings.

She made a trip to the vet on Monday to get a lump under her spay incision checked out. The doc said she was likely having a reaction to the sutures and put her on antibiotics. The swelling has already decreased. She takes the pills without any trouble. Since they are capsules, I push them to the back of her throat right before I set her food down. It doesn’t seem to phase her a bit. We are still cleaning and medicating her ears twice a day. It seems to be a slow process to get them cleared up. I can only imagine what they were like when the previous FM took her in!

Her ride in the car went fine. She can’t get into my vehicle on her own - it’s an SUV and sits pretty high off the ground. She would do fine with a car, or something to help her get in. We are still working on building up her muscles, so in time, she might be able to jump in on her own.

She seems to enjoy our nightly walks. She has even been keeping up better, instead of lagging behind. She walks nicely with just her collar and will follow my lead with some occasional gentle pressure. The only time she is a little hard to handle is when people stop to pet her. It seems she can’t get close to them fast enough. She loves people!!

She seems to have some mild storm anxiety and this usually shows as general nervousness and scratching in her crate. There was no destruction, however, so it's very manageable.

Jackie’s favorite thing in the world seems to be rolling in the wet grass!! She likes to roll in the grass in general, but if it is wet, she will roll and squirm on her back forever. Heaven!

She is ready to find a place she can call home – forever! So, if you like to take walks, you’ve got some wet grass, another dog and a fairly quite household, Jackie will fit right in! Contact your Placement Advisor so we can arrange a meeting and get her on the road to her perfect family home - yours!

Jackie arrived late this afternoon to stay with us until she finds her forever home.We already got some good pictures of her I wanted to share.  She has already adopted all the stuffed dog toys in the house.  I think she is catching up on all the years without human interaction and is constantly wanting to be petted.  Her fur is so soft, you can't help but give in!  We are still getting to know her and I will post a longer update soon.

Enjoy the pics and check back soon!!
