Sweetie 10-192

Profile
Sweetie comes to RAGOM from a South Dakota breeder. Sweetie is a Silver Goldendoodle. We understand that she will turn more silver as she matures. Her father is a ninety pound Silver Poodle and her mother is a fifty pound Golden Retriever. looking at Sweetie's feet we think that she will be a sizeable dog when she matures.
Sweetie's first car ride was a long one, South Dakota to the northeast suburbs of the Twin Cities. She started the ride in the passenger's lap but toward the end of the trip she started to get a little car sick and finished her trip in a crate. Since that time she has taken many rides in the car (most trips were an hour or less) while being in a crate and hasn't shown any signs of a stomach problem.
It is very apparent that she has plenty of Golden Retriever in her. When you're walking in the yard she will be close enough most of the time to be rubbing your leg. When you stop she will lie down on your feet. She wants contact with people. She loves meeting people, adults and children. Her personality is also tempered by the Poodle in her lineage. Unlike most Goldens she does not insist on jumping into each and every body of water she encounters. She's not afraid of water, she just doesn't have to be wet all the time.
She also loves toys. She will make a trip to the dog toy box and find a new toy that is the absolute very best toy in the world ... for a while. Then it's another trip to the toy box where she finds the next absolutely very best toy in the world. If the afternoon wasn't broken up by a few naps she'd have the toy box completely empty. She won't pick up after herself. This way she is promoting a healthy lifestyle for her caretakers as they do the bend-and-stretch getting all the toys back into the toy box.
Sweetie has had a couple of veterinary appointments. Her first stop was for an exam. Then she had surgery scheduled. She is now all medically taken care of -- spayed and everything. With each visit the entire staff of the office had to come out and play with her. "Look at that face!" and "She's so cute!" were the phrases most uttered.
She walks quite well on a leash for a twelve-week-old puppy and has gotten accustomed to two longer walks a day, morning and evening. If it's a hot, calm, sunny and muggy day she will tend to become quite warm after just a short walk. And once she's hot, she's ready to go back home and have a nap on the tile floor. Looking at her black, long, curly, fluffy coat you can see that she does make an excellent solar collector. We can only imagine that when the snow season arrives (October thru May in Minnesota) that she will likely take great pleasure in lying in and burrowing into the snow.
Sweetie knows a few commands. She is familiar with "come" and usually responds well, she certainly knows "sit" because it most often happens just before the word "cookie" is used. And she knows the word "cookie".
