Hi everyone it's me Peaches. Since no one else has written something for my happy endings page I thought I would just do it myself with some help from Molly (06-127) my fur sister. It's been a year now in my new house and I have adjusted to most things. I have learned that when I am in the kitchen I must lay down on the rug or else I get yelled at for tripping everyone, but sometimes it gets too boring waiting on the rug for food so I get up and scout around for food anyway. A few days ago my family was making sugar cookies and I was right there ready to pounce when one of cookies fell off the table, it was a good cookie. I have also taught my family not to leave any food on the counter, because I like to counter-surf when no one else is around. I have gotten a hold of some ripening bananas and pears. The pears weren't too good though and I just had one bite. There is also still a case about where a loaf of bread disappeared too and I am keeping my mouth shut about this one. Molly and I have also had some adventures with going though the trash cans while looking for a midnight snack. Food is number one for me around here, and every time I see someone I sit down and wag my tail real hard just hoping they have something for me in their hand. Once all my human sister had in her hand was some fur from Molly, but I could have sworn she had some good food hidden in her hand. If you look at my pictures you will notice that I have lost a lot of weight since coming to Ragom, but if you ask me I would prefer to eat a lot and just sit around. For a while I was under 60 lbs, but the vet said I was too small, so now I weigh about 62lbs, and my mom thinks I might have gained too much weight, but is working with the vet to find a perfect weight for me. I say just because Molly is 50lbs and all muscle doesn't mean I have to be.

I also get a lot of exercise here and at least one walk a day for about an hour. On the weekends some times I go for one and a half to two hours. This wears me out pretty good, especially when we are let off the leash and I try and keep up with Molly. I am just as fast as Molly, but Molly has a lot more energy and never wears out. (The only thing that wears Molly out a little bit is a three hour run through the Boundary Waters while our human sister skis.) Most of the time I walk nicely, some days though I just don't want to walk and drag behind while Molly pulls ahead. Right after a walk I expect to be fed and I don't understand the lectures about how it's only 1:30 or 3:30 and therefore it is not time for dinner. I keep hoping and following my mom all around the house and get very excited every time she goes into the kitchen. When it is dinner time I eat as fast as I can, and now have to eat out of a muffin tin, as if that will slow me down. I also am not allowed to eat with Molly, because when I finish I go over and push Molly away from her food bowl and finish Molly's food for her. I don't growl or anything and Molly doesn't seem to care so I don't see what the big deal is.
My other favorite thing to do around here is to go for car rides and when I go I sit very nicely in the back seat unlike some other dog I know who puts her head on the shoulder of the driver and whines because we are not going fast enough. However, I have gotten in trouble for stealing the driver's seat, but if the driver's door is the first one open I gotta hop in. Don't want to be left behind! I also jumped in my aunt's car when it was open too just hoping that we were going somewhere, and I have refused to get out of the car when the door was just accidentally opened.
I also really love my squeaky toys. Molly was at the pet store recently and got me a new squeaky toy that was on sale because it was wearing a Santa hat and she got herself one too. However after our human sister left us alone at home for a few minutes with them I took Molly's and then was the proud owner of two squeaky toys. Molly is a pushover and all I have to do is hold on to something that Molly has that I want and give her the look and she gives it to me. Sometimes Molly plays a little tug of war for a while or tries to play keep away, but I usually end up with the toy in the end. Molly is pretty nice to me, but sometimes she gets really excited about something and then paws me in the head and runs into me. I put up with it for a bit, but if I growl she knows I have had enough. Most of the time I don't know why she is excited, but since she is excited I get excited too. I am also okay living without Molly. I enjoy seeing Molly when when she comes back and don't like being left behind (but who wouldn't), but am just as happy being an only dog and keeping my mom company.
I love wild animals too and have caught myself a squirrel and an opossum. Didn't kill them just caught them. Just trying to keep up with Molly who has caught many squirrels and rabbits and even a porcupine. She got in trouble for the porcupine though because it was a baby and when she bit it, it left about 200 quills in her mouth that a vet had to take out. I say Molly and I are now even, because she has the porcupine and I have the opossum and Molly has had many more years to increase her squirrel count. Molly and I also cornered a chipmunk in a PVC pipe, but then we got in trouble for trying to dig the other end of the PVC pipe out of the ground.
Well that's it for me, thank you Ragom for finding me a new home. I think Molly wants to say something.
Hi, Molly here. Just wanted to let everyone know that Gabby is a good sister, even if she does steal my toys and my spot sometimes. Though I guess, if you were to be technical about it the spot I am talking about is the one Gabby's foster dad gave me, so maybe Gabby thinks it is hers. And yes, we did change Peaches name. Her full name is Gabimichigami, after a BWCA lake, and my family goes to the BWCA a lot. At first we wanted to name her after Lake Superior, but then her name would be gitchi gummi, and we didn't think that sounded right for a name. So thanks again to everyone at Ragom. We included some photos of us too. One is a photo of us sharing the spot from FD, and if you look close you can see Gabby's head is on her toy. Other one is a profile of Gabby and you can see how much weight she lost. And the others are just of us looking cute as always.
