Meet Sienna! Sienna is a 6 year old female that came to RAGOM from a Tennessee puppy mill, one of five sweet girls given up after their productive breeding days were finished. A sister Golden Retriever rescue didn’t have the resources to help these poor dogs and asked for our help. Sienna is very social compared to other mill dogs we have fostered. She likes to be around people and gets along fine with Lacey our resident Golden who was a mill mother from Missouri. She also gets along with our small dog Bailey and our cat Barney. Sienna is easily startled by quick movements and loud noises, so she might not be well suited for families with very small children. Sienna likes to watch TV, especially Dogtown and The Dog Whisperer. She will talk to the dogs that are on TV, it is so cute. Sienna is blind in her right eye from what looks like a traumatic injury that was most likely not treated. She is going to have multiple teeth extracted due to them being worn down to nubs from chewing on her cage. Her ears were infected badly and are now receiving the treatment they need. Even with these problems she has the sweetest disposition and just wants to be loved. Sienna is currently in heat so her spay and dental surgery are on hold till after her heat cycle is complete. Sienna currently sleeps on the floor next to our bed and is gated in our bedroom with Lacey when we are not home. Since she was a cage chewer we have not put her in a crate here.
Some things that will be required for her forever home are.
1) a fenced in yard 2) no very young kids as she is skittish of fast movements and loud noises3) patience and training to be the best she can be She will not be available for adoption until after her spay which is scheduled for 3/22/10.
