Sienna 10-075

Profile

Meet Sienna! Sienna is a 6 year old female that came to RAGOM from a Tennessee puppy mill, one of five sweet girls given up after their productive breeding days were finished. A sister Golden Retriever rescue didn’t have the resources to help these poor dogs and asked for our help. Sienna is very social compared to other mill dogs we have fostered. She likes to be around people and gets along fine with Lacey our resident Golden who was a mill mother from Missouri. She also gets along with our small dog Bailey and our cat Barney. Sienna is easily startled by quick movements and loud noises, so she might not be well suited for families with very small children. Sienna likes to watch TV, especially Dogtown and The Dog Whisperer. She will talk to the dogs that are on TV, it is so cute. Sienna is blind in her right eye from what looks like a traumatic injury that was most likely not treated. She is going to have multiple teeth extracted due to them being worn down to nubs from chewing on her cage. Her ears were infected badly and are now receiving the treatment they need. Even with these problems she has the sweetest disposition and just wants to be loved.  Sienna is currently in heat so her spay and dental surgery are on hold till after her heat cycle is complete.   Sienna currently sleeps on the floor next to our bed and is gated in our bedroom with Lacey when we are not home. Since she was a cage chewer we have not put her in a crate here.

Some things that will be required for her forever home are.

1) a fenced in yard 2) no very young kids as she is skittish of fast movements and loud noises3) patience and training to be the best she can be She will not be available for adoption until after her spay which is scheduled for 3/22/10.

Hi Sienna Fans,
Sienna is doing great here at her foster home. She is completely potty trained and has had her stitches removed post spay. Sienna is a great dog to have around. Easy going and friendly. She gets along well with all dogs and has met small children on our walks and is very friendly to them. Her foster dad has started calling her CC for short and she comes to that and Sienna. We are working on some basic commands now and she is starting to catch on.

Sienna will make a perfect pet for someone, please consider her for your family and approved applicants let your placement advisor know you would like to meet Sienna 10-075.

I have also attached some new photos, Sienna is the darker Golden and Lacey is her Golden friend and Bailey is her Little White friend.

Sienna had her surgeries on Monday. She was spayed and had all 12 upper and lower incisors removed because of wear caused by cage chewing. We also found out she is missing 2 lower premolars. She has been laying low for the last couple of days. Today she seems to have some of her energy back and is eating dry dog food again.

We have enclosed some more photos of her. You can see by the one that she likes to chill on the couch with her foster sister Lacey who also was a puppy mill mother. Sienna is miles ahead of Lacey as far as socialization, she loves to get attention from everyone she meets and is learning that outside is the proper place to go potty. Sienna also walks well on a leash and meets dogs and people on our walks appropriately.  If you are looking for a low energy Golden that just likes to hang out with you Sienna is just the girl for you. Approved applicants please contact your placement advisor if you would like to me her.
