Hunter 10-057

Profile

Hunter arrived in our house last Saturday.  He is the most adorable and perfect PB 16 week old puppy who came into RAGOM only because a job loss forced his loving family to give him up.  We promised that we would find him the perfect home!  Hunter visited the vet on Tuesday, and is now UTD on all shots.  He is a healthy 27 pounds and seems to be growing every day.  He is scheduled for neutering on Friday and will then be available to go to his forever home.

In the few days we have had Hunter, here is what we have learned:

  • He loves his people!!!!  He will follow you from room to room as he always wants to be around you.
  • He gets along great with other dogs and kids.  There is absolutely no resource guarding, and he shares his toys and food with our two residents.
  • He loves to be held - be ready for a total lap dog.  We laugh at him because as soon as he gets picked up he literally melts into you.  It is like every muscle in his body relaxes at once, and he just closes his eyes and goes to sleep.
  • As a puppy, he is a chewer - anything is fair game, paper, shoes, mittens, toilet paper, kleenex.  He will need a puppy-proof house until he is done teething.
  • He is a pretty mellow puppy - he does love to play, but he never gets really wild.  He's also very food motivated so he has been easy to train.
  • He does great on a leash and loves his walks - there's so much to see out there!
  • He does okay in a kennel - he sleeps in one at night and goes in when we leave him.  He whines a bit at first, but does settle down very quickly and sleeps through the night.
  • He does not like being small!!  He jumps up on our coffee table (which are now training him to stay off, but it was so funny at first) to be as tall as our two resident dogs and to get on equal footing with them.  He thinks he is so cool and acts so tough when he is up there.  Also, he needs to see what is on the counters and is quite the surfer - he can't reach far, but he will grab anything that is close to the edge - we are working on this also and he is learning quickly.

Hunter will be ready to go to his forever home anytime after his neuter on Friday.  If you would like to meet this perfect little guy, call your placement advisor.
