Ginger is one pretty lady. She’s a light Golden and even comes with her own papers! We are proud to have her in Fridley – especially now that she’s bathed and groomed. She checked out fine with the vet and doesn’t even need to be spayed.
We’re still getting to know her, but we’ve already decided she needs a physical fence and lots of exercise. She’s not hyper, just a few extra pounds on her. We’ve walked her on a Gentle Leader and she does very well. There was talk of earlier obedience classes and attention to those commands is starting to show. And she’s great with children – can’t get enough of our two young grandchildren. She also grew up with two cats and another dog and was very good with all of them.
We have a little problem with signals to go potty. Ginger was an outdoor dog during the day in a kennel with a long run, so she doesn’t bark at the door. Mostly, it’s a matter of reading her nervousness near the door. We’re trying bells again – could work!
Mostly, we are still getting to know her. She seems pretty nervous and doesn’t settle in one place very long. We’re hoping she’ll calm down more as she gets used to us. More news when we get used to each other a little better.
Now that we have gotten to know Ginger, we have fallen in love and plan to adopt her. Our foster days are over…for now.
