Rue is a 7-week old, 11 lb female golden/lab mix puppy. Her mother is a Black Lab and father is a Golden. She is white (or tan) with a light back spot on her head – like a thumbprint, with the fur of a Lab. She went to the vet yesterday, had her puppy shots, received her microchip and is doing great!
We picked her up along with six of her sisters Sunday and spent a few hours of cuddling and getting loads of puppy kisses all the way home. Rue and two of her sisters, Kim 10-015 and Audrey 10-011, are hanging out with us for a while. They met our resident dogs (12 yr old Shepard and 2 yr old lab) and wanted to play with them right off the bat. Our lab loves to play and they do well with him. The Shepard wants to stay far away
We took “the girls” outside to potty and poop and put them in a kennel for the night at 11:30. They slept together with their blanket from their Mom and Dad until 8 AM! They cried for about five minutes when we put them to bed, but never even a peep after that. Same routine last night, less crying but they got up at 7 AM when my daughter did for school today.
They play hard for about an hour and a half, then nap on the blankets on the floor, get up, go out to potty and start all over again. There are a few accidents on the floor, but I’m not really sure who they are from (J). All in all they are doing a fantastic job of going outside (more out than in – yeah!). They love the snow! They are only out a couple minutes at a time.
Rue is the most inquisitve of the three right now. She likes playing with our two yr old dog a lot – and they do well together. She eats and drinks fine, plays with the others and by herself, loves to chew on toys, loves to be held and cuddled. We will let you know more as we get to know Rue better.
My kids (22,19 and 16) are in puppy heaven...
If you are interested in Rue or either of her sisters, please contact your RAGOM placement advisor, then I wish you luck getting past my kids!
