Emma 09-505

Profile

Sponsored by: Stefanie K.
Emma is a PB  light color Golden  Retriever who was an owner surrender.  She was living in an outdoor kennel and the owners did not have time for her.  Thanks to the GS that took her in and bathed her, cut out numerous mats and started working with her on housebreaking.  She is learning to live inside a house and new sounds startle her, but she is adjusting well.  It is fun watching her grow!  She seldom barks, but lets the resident dogs do that!
She had her first visit to the vet and is in good health.  She is HW negative.  The vet estimates her age at 18 mos to 2 years. She weighs about 60 lbs, which is a little underweight, the vet said she could gain about 5 more lbs..

She is submissive and loves to run and play tug with the the resident dogs, Snowie and Sammie.  She also loves tennis balls.

She is co habitiating with 2 cats and does not seem to mind even though they like to rub up against her.

She is a very happy dog and wants to be with her human. She does the typical golden nudge if you aren't paying enough attention to her.  She responds well to her name, and knows how to sit. We are working on other commands.
She is looking for a family that will be committed to taking her to obedience so she can learn to be the best dog there is!  She is very smart and wants to please. She has a lot of energy and I feel she would be best in a home without small children.

She is settling in to her foster home and has already earned free roam of the house.

More to come as she settles in and we get to know her.  If you are interested in meeting her, please contact your placement advisor.

Well I waited and I watched, and it really paid off....   My furrever family FOUND ME!

I went to interview them and they were already ready for me. They had pink tennis balls, a tug rope and a new food dish there for just for me!   My future will be filled with love, playtime, obedience, swimming, and boatrides!  I think FM is a little jealous.

I will miss all the fur kids at my foster mom's house, but I have Cody, Champ and a human brother to play with now.

Sammie (07-365), Emma and Snowball (07-672)

I was FM's second foster (she failed with the first one), but I was the first one she adopted out, and I know I will always hold a special place in her heart.  She wanted me to stay, but when my special family found me, I told her I needed to move on so she could help more dogs.  I looked for that Christmas stocking to pack my things in, but FM reminded me that Snowie, Sammie and I played tug with it until it was just threads.  But that is fine, there are lots of new toys waiting at my new house.
Thanks to FM and her support team for helping me find my new home! Yes she had a hard time letting me go, she knew what was best for me and her friends were there for her.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE (especially Stefanie K.) Miss Emma checking in. I want to give a paw and a huge sloppy kiss to Miss Stefani K. You are so sweet to sponsor me. I may have missed out on a lot in my early years but FM says I am making up for it 3 and 4 times over. People like you make it possible for fur butts like me to realize there is a lot of good in life. Thank you for being a part of that.

I suppose you are wondering about that office and if it ever got cleaned up. That would be a NO! FM says when she makes an attempt at it, all the furbutts join in. We aren’t there to clean so I am not sure what the problem is. Frankly I THINK she really has no interest in it. Oh well. Lots of other rooms in the house.

Things have settled down a little bit since the holidays. I still am anxious when I go for car rides. Slowly but surely I have made progress. We go every night so you would think I would get more comfortable with it. (Up to 30 minutes now)

Even though everyone is saying brrrrr……….. and living here is like living in Siberia, I LOVE to go outside and hang out. Sammie and Snowie don’t always enjoy the same enthusiasm but I’m ok being out there by myself. My favorite things are still tennis balls and playing tug. I can never get too much of a good game. FM says I need to mention that I have not had a potty accident since Wednesday. Seems trivial to me, given all my other good qualities. But I promise, soon it will not even be mentioned.  :)

So now the new year has begun and I think it is time for me to move on. I LOVE my foster family a lot but they need to help others just like me. For that to happen, I need to find my forever home. If you have a lot of love, patience and the time to take me to obedience training, I could be yours. I get along with everyone (all furs included) so let your placement advisor know you’d like to meet me. If you live within 30 minutes from us, maybe we will come to you!  :)
Hugs
Miss Emma

Happy Holidays everyone. This is Emma. Foster Mom is busy cleaning out the office and it seems to be taking longer than she had expected. I heard her say something about 3 furbutts and her being in a very small room…… Hmmm… Do you think she doesn’t appreciate the help?  :)

Christmas was REALLY a lot of fun. We received many nice things and I like having foster Mom around to hang out with us. This gives her time to work with me. I know that I have a lot to learn but I am now learning how to be a dog. Sammie and Snowie are such great teachers. (Even if we do get in a little trouble once in a while!) I know now that the leash means we are going for a walk but I still cannot resist playing tug with it. I still don’t like the gentle leader but hey… this is all new to me. I get very excited to go in the car but then when I get in there it’s kind of scary. Foster Mom always brings a lot of treats even though we just go around the block. YUM YUM.  I’m sure Snowie and Sammie are so jealous.

I know the snow was not welcomed by all but boy do I love it. It is so much fun to go out there and make snow angels. Tis the season you know. Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.

I’m just a happy, energetic girl who always has a wagging tail. I know I need some work with my manners so I would do best in a home where someone is willing to take me to obedience training and give me lots of love. With a little bit of patience, a lot of treats and lots and lots of love, I will be a girl that will steal your heart. Ask Foster Mom. I already have hers.

Stay tuned to see if Foster Mom gets that office cleaned out.

We are helping, Emma is the one on the left

                                  I will hold the leash!!

FM is letting me do my own update already!  You see she has learned how smart I am.  I am liking living inside a house instead of outside in a cold kennel.  I have only been an inside dog for 2 weeks and I have settled in nicely and am much calmer then when I first got here.  I was just so excited about being here.  I am getting along fine with the resident dogs here, but I could be an only dog in your home.  I would love to have all the attention to myself and I love giving puppy kisses.   Some foster dogs have FM's, FD's etc but here we also have Foster Neighbors!  How cool is that!  I got my first ever Christmas stocking this weekend filled with treats, tennis balls and a stuffed animal.  I loved them all and shared with the other dogs here, they got their own too, and we have all been sharing good.    I also really like to eat and used to gobble down my food down fast, but I am slowing down as I trust that FM will feed me twice a day.I am doing well at "sit" and yesterday I learned to "lay".    I hear we are going for a walk today, I will let you know how I do on a leash,  I am not used to that but I am sure I can learn.  Better go, have to go out and make more snow angels in this pretty snow we got today. ~Emma

WOW!  There are good things in here!

This is fun!

And when it's empty it's a great tug toy!
