Dear Santa,

My name is Milo.  I am a 10 week old golden retriever mix puppy.  I was part of an accidental litter and me and my litter mates were rescued by RAGOM - we're so lucky!  I haven't been to the vet yet but I'll be going there soon to get checked out, I hope everything turns out okay.  I just got to my new foster home today and they have two big dogs here.  FM says I'll be as big as them in no time!
Now that you know a little bit about me, I was wondering if you could give me a Forever Family for Christmas?  I heard that they're the best thing a puppy like me could ever have.
Thanks Santa!
Snuggles & puppy kisses,

Milo

Hi Jayden

Updates

Mister Milo checking in. I am now 16 weeks old, weigh 20.5 pounds, and still the softest dog on the planet! I am working really hard on that AKC top ten resolutions list on RAGOM's home page, and I really have number 10 down, owner on floor, dog in bed. I am still little enough that we all can fit in bed, but mom and dad keep telling me things may have to change. (Yeah, you all know how well that will work out!) And I still can't catch my tail, but that does not stop me from trying. It's pretty funny when Annie and Zak have this down to a fine art, and all I do is fall over from getting dizzy. (The life of a puppy.....)

Mom is working on Shane's list of resolutions, and I get brushed a lot, and had my first bath yesterday. I really liked that, and brushing too. My coat is more like the Great Pyrenees breed in me, so mom says brusing will become part of my life. She says we will go to RAGOM meet and greets too, so we can tell others what a great organization it is and promote adoption of pets.

Mom is also working on the AKC Good Citizen stuff too, although I don't get much of that right now because playing is so much more fun, and then I have to sleep too. She says I will be a therapy dog when I am a big boy. My other personal goal is to have as many toys as Shane in his picture on the RAGOM home page! (Talk about!)

Now, it's nap time. Take care until I have time to check in again!

Milo Puppy, checking in.  It's now been 9 days since I moved to my forever home.  I am 12 weeks old, probably gained a pound or two, got rid of that parasite thing inside of me, and I adjusted to my new home like you wouldn't believe!  Kip the senior Terrier dog,  has taken over the role of mentor, or at least he thinks he has.  Really I have taken over the house, but I have to admit that I learn lots of stuff from The Gang, which is Annie (07-135) who came here to live from a really nasty place in Bismarck, ND called a puppy mill.  I am not sure she ever spent a lot of time around her pups because at first she didn't know what to make of me.

Now I spend time napping with Annie, Kip and Zachary the really big red Golden, who still thinks he's a puppy too.  Mom tells me I will someday be as big as him, but I don't know about that.  He and I sit on our hill and keep an eye on the squirrels, and the other day he showed me where to find the grasses in mom's garden, and told me to chew away on them because that and lettuce are considered roughage and it's good for me.  Here mom thought they looked pretty with all the snow hanging off them!  Ha - Zak and I showed her a thing or two.

My jobs here are eating, pooing, sleeping and playing.  I can get pretty wild, cuz there are lots of toys here.  I have pretty sharp teeth, or at least that's what the humans tell me.  Sometimes they call me shark mouth, but I have no idea why.  Then they tell me I'm gonna lose my shark teeth and maybe my new ones won't be so pointy and sharp.  But I have to admit I go to lock up when I bite too much, so I'm a fast learner cuz I like to play and play, not go to lock up.  The other dogs park their hairy butts right outside my crate and look at me with something like "I told you so".  What's a little guy supposed to do?

Oh my, but Milo is something else!  He is honestly one of the cutest little boys ever, and still very mellow for a 12 week old puppy.  He is so soft and loves to cuddle, so I fear we run the risk of turning him in to the largest lap dog ever!  He loves the snow, and we are keeping an eye on the snow digging he does, so it doesn't carry over once summer comes, and he digs up the gardens.

Happy New Year, from Milo and the P Family

Dear Milo,

I'm really super glad that your Christmas wish came true and that you went home to your Forever Family today. The P Family is really lucky to have a great puppy like you.
I have to admit, I will miss playing with you and our snuggle time but I know I will see you again some day.  I bet you'll be bigger than me in NO time!
You are one of my favorite foster brothers.
I love you Milo,
Jayden (09-023)
p.s. FM, FD, Jake and Poco (the cat) will miss you too!

Hi Santa,

Since there's only 7 days until Christmas, I wanted to give you an update on how I'm doing so you can continue your work on finding me a Forever Family.

Ya know what Santa? I'm a REALLY GOOD BOY! At least that's what I hear around my foster home. Since my last update, I've been to the vet and I'm all up to date on shots and microchipped, however, my fecal test came back positive for Giardia. In case your Elves are curious, Giardia is a protozoan parasite (microscopic) that lives in the intestine. I am now taking medication that should clear it up. It's not a really serious thing, my FM & FD just have to pick up all my poopies so the resident dogs don't get into them. They also just wash their hands a lot but I'm told that they were already doing that:-) Other than that, I am a perfectly happy & healthy puppy, weighing in at 12 whopping pounds!

FM & FD call me "Mellow Milo"...I think it's cuz I like to snuggle in their laps and I'm perfectly happy just sitting around, chewing on a rope toy or nyla bone. I'm so mellow that I hardly whine when I go in my crate. I shout out a couple barks and then I just take a nap or chew my bone. Life is pretty good right now but it would be even better if you could find me a family of my very own.

By the way, I'll be at Leashes and Leads on Saturday, December 19th - Hope to see everyone there!

Peace,
Milo
