Yes--Rowan is feeling cabin fever. He is actually VERY good about the amount of time he has to spend in his crate or on leash around the house. He does get snuggle time on the couch but that lasts about 5 minutes before he is trying to wrestle with my 3 yo RAGOM boy Skye. So back to the crate or mud room.
Rowan is an amazing young dog! He is huge but gentle. He was found as a stray but clearly someone loved him and spent time training him. He knows 'sit', 'down' and 'stay'. Now he knows 'kennel' too :)
A little tug on the leash when he starts to get ahead brings him right back to a slack leash. I really can't wait to see him running off leash! It will be so fun for him! He's really just a big puppy. In fact, he still chews things. In his temp foster home, he ate a glove and went to the vet where they induced vomiting and out came the glove. Full disclosure :)
He loves to give kisses and has been great around the 8-11 year old boys.
Rowan does have a high prey drive--or is it a fun drive?? He has gone after cats and also the puppy I am fostering. I haven't let him get close enough to see if he would do any damage. Given his strong desire though, I would say he needs a home without cats or other small dogs. He may be fine with them but why risk it?
Since he was found as a stray I would recommend a fence in his new home. Kids are OK although little ones are sure to be knocked around by this big goof! Forewarned! He doesn't need another dog. Once he is healed he will need plenty of exercise although Dr. R. said that he will never be a great jogging partner. So if you are looking for a big goofy Marmaduke of a pup, check out my Rowan.
