Kenzo is now being fostered in Forest Lake. This is a very nice boy. He already has the run of our house with no accidents or inappropriate behavior. He sleeps quietly alongside our bed, gets along good with our resident dog, and he met several other dogs on a long walk yesterday. Kenzo takes treats gently without any resource guarding evident. He is just a lover. Our 2 and 4 year old grandkids were here for an hour and were hugging him and petting him without incident. He enjoys walks and gets excited when you ask him if he wants to go for a walk.
We are keeping him for a week or so before making him available for adoption. We think he is good with small kids but don't know for sure without getting to know him better. Kenso was a stray and he doesn't answer to Kenzo. We have been calling him Kenzi because he responds (sometimes) to any name that ends with an "ey" sound.
Kenzi needs obedience school. He needs to learn his name, come every time when called and needs to learn how to walk alongside you on a leash. He will be easy to train, he craves attention and praise. We have him on a kibble and green bean diet. He needs to get down to 65-70lbs to be a good weight for his size. The lucky people who get to adopt him have to have the discipline needed to restrict his calories and help him get down to a healthy weight.
