Emsie (Harriet 09-470)

Profile

Harriet is a cute 4-year old Golden/Lab mix. I enjoyed my visit with Harriet so much - she is just adorable, full of fun and a complete love bug. After about 10 minutes of entertaining herself (and the humans) by throwing her rope toys up in the air and then chasing them around, she tired out and decided to lay on the cool floor. She loves playing a good game of chase; picture trying to sneak up on her while she keeps a watchful eye. Just when you think you might have fooled her, she's off! I am sure this is a game that she could have played all afternoon!

Harriet has lived the majority of her life as a single dog with a human couple for companionship. So, she is really just learning what it's like to be with other dogs and interact appropriately. Harriet can get snarky with new dogs so introductions have to be taken slowly. Harriet would be best suited to a family where she will be the only dog, but where she will be able to keep up her doggy manners that she has learned this past month. A family willing to help Harriet see that other dogs can be fun but not push her into uncomfortable situations with other dogs.

Harriet is very well trained and listens wonderfullly. She is housetrained, obedience trained and 100% perfect with all humans - big and small. She has learned to walk well on a leash and could easily be left for a full work day alone without any issues.

With Harriet's loving nature and easy personality, she would make the perfect companion for a family that is happy sharing their love with just one dog. I can guarantee that she will pay back the love 100 fold!

Harriet is truly a dog who deserves a chance at forever with a family of her own. If you are interested in Harriet, please let your placement advisor know. Although she can't be adopted without first spending a little time in a RAGOM foster home there is no harm in letting us know you think she might be the one you are looking for.

Harriet has been adopted!! I arrived at Doggy Daycare last Saturday to a freshly bathed and brushed Harriet - all ready to head to her new home. She enjoyed a Bully Stick while we completed paperwork and then couldn't sit still long enough for a picture - the only one that turned out was an action shot of her giving her new dad kisses :) Harriet jumped right into the car while foster mom, Maureen, shed a few tears. Her antics and playful but easy demeanor will be greatly missed at the Doggy Daycare.

According to Harriet's new dad, Andy, things are going well so far. They are taking time to bond and enjoy life and Andy sounds like a proud new papa when he describes his girl, Harriet.

Thank you to RAGOM and Maureen for caring for this girl until her and Andy could find each other. I have been promised updates on the Happy Endings page once Andy and Harriet get started in Obedience and I can't wait to hear how things go.

Happy trails Harriet and Andy - what a great pair!
