Brandon's neuter went very well and he is healing nicely. He should be able to get his stitches out in a few days. He is now up to date on all of his shots and everything that he needs. The vet says that he is a very healthy and handsome boy!
In the last week, Brandon has settled down a lot from the excitement of being in a new home. He still really loves to play with the two resident goldens and chase the cat, but in between times, he is fine chewing a bone or snuggling with his foster mom. He is doing a great job walking with a gentle leader, and he has gotten so good about going in his crate when he hears "kennel up". He is very close to being potty trained and has only had one accident in the last 5 days.
Brandon would do best in a home with a lot of energy and enthusiasm. He has a real zest for life and it should be shared by his adoptive family. It would be great if that home has one or more dogs, but that is not a requirement for his placement. He won't hurt cats but a home with cats must consider that he will chase them and want to play. He is fascinated with them and tries to run after his foster kitty everytime she makes a move. Also, a home with children would be great for Brandon, but kids under the age of 5 may feel overwhelmed by his energy and size. Basically he needs a family who will love a young, healthy, energetic, loving dog. Brandon is an exceptional boy and deserves the very best!
