I would like to introduce you all to Zeus. Zeus is a survivor! A Good Samaritan found him running in traffic almost being hit twice. The Good Samaritan called RAGOM after spending two weeks looking for his owners.
We picked up Zeus on October 15th. At our first meeting he enthusiastically jumped all over us, licked us and jumped right in the car. He settled immediately. He was home with us for two days and stopped eating. We immediately thought he was just getting accustomed to his new surroundings. When he started sneezing and coughing we took him to the vet. He had an upper respiratory infection which was treated with antibiotics. He was microchipped and will be getting his vaccines soon.
Fast forward to today. He is an energetic, fun dog to have in the house. He brings a smile to your face at least once a day. He demands hugs, loves car rides (maybe a little obsessive), and needs a 4 to 5 mile run a day to calm him down. He does know some simple commands.
A permanent home for Zeus would need:
- a fenced in backyard, otherwise you need to be outside with him all the time
- continued obedience training – he does jump up on you, tries to get out of the house to run to the car, leash training (he pulls and jerks especially when he sees another dog)
- a home that will give him a lot of attention – he is a people dog
- a family that is committed to excising him
Further information will be added as we get to know Zeus!
