Bella 09-374

Profile

Bella is a 15 month old female who weighs 57 lbs.   She is now UTD on her shots, was given a clean bill of health and is now at the vet overnight getting spayed. Her owners surrendered her because they didn’t have enough time for her and she spent too much time being tied up out in the farm yard.   She loves attention and cuddling; she tries to get in your lap and then wants your hands on her petting her.   She is young and energetic.  Bella pulls hard on the leash and needs more than one session of obedience school.  She never learned how to meet other dogs, so she gets in their face and some of them don’t like it.

She needs to learn what is appropriate to chew on and what isn’t, so some rugs and drywall in our back hall took a turn for the worse. The shelter said she is defensive about food but we’ve been feeding her by hand without any problem and think that obedience training will get her past that.  Care will need to be taken to not let a small child interfere with her food or bones until she is better trained and can be trusted.  We have had her for 8 days now and she learns quickly. She is eager to please and she just melts when given praise and affection.

The perfect family for her will give her plenty of exercise and play like teaching her to play fetch or biking or jogging.  If she is left alone during the work day she will need either another dog, or toys and bones and preferably a window to look out or she will get bored and could get into mischief.  A tired dog is a well behaved dog.  If the right people show her some patience and take her to obedience school training, she will be a GReat companion.
