Cami 09-366

Profile

Little Cami  arrived in Cedar Rapids, Iowa last Saturday from Fargo, ND, thanks to a GReat team of transport volunteers! She has ridden very nicely in the back-seat of the car without a kennel or leash.

Since her arrival, Cami has been a very busy girl! She met our two resident dogs, four cats, and 12 year old daughter and learned to walk VERY nicely with the Gentle Leader, met 5 neighborhood dogs and numerous neighbors at an ice cream social, and went to the vet today. She has been a perfectly behaved dog on all occasions.

Cami is a petite, polite, and perky young gal. She weighs 34 pounds. The vet estimated her age at 9 months (she was found as a stray in the Fargo area), so she has been assigned a birth date of 12/1/2008. The vet's best guess is she is a mix with an Australian Shepherd, with a fair amount of white hair on her underside, including her paws. She is now up-to-date on all shots, micro-chipped, and is being treated for an ear infection. Cami is scheduled to be spayed tomorrow and have her rear dew claws removed.

From the foster parents' view, the nicest thing about her is she is totally housetrained!  She also enjoys playing with our 5-year old G/R, Maren  and her favorite spot is the couch that most of the other fosters always found so inviting. She has made herself at home very quickly, and it has been fun to see her go from being a tired, scared, shy girl when she first arrived to being a happy little golden in just a matter of days. She does not need crating and sleeps in the bedroom or on the family room couch.

Cami may not be a PB but has the heart and soul of golden.  She has a very sweet personality and beautiful, medium gold GR thick fur with a bushy, golden tail.  For a puppy, her personality is very mild and calm.  We will add an update after her spaying tomorrow!!  Contact your placement advisor for more information!!

Hello Everyone,

It's Cami here, except that my new family made a slight change to my name and call me Calli. I have a Ragom sister here that is 13 years old. She and I get along really well. She even plays with me sometimes.

I am working on the commands that my foster family taught me. Pete and Kris did such a good job getting me ready for my "furever" home. I am learning to "shake" paws also. I almost have it down!

My new Mom and Dad say that I have been a very good girl. They think that I am pretty funny because it has been a while since they have had a dog that is still kind of a puppy (I think that I am around one year old). We go for lots of walk, well really "strolls" because my sister is not a very fast walker. I love to watch the squirrels and rabbits as we go along. There are pretty many around here so I am very busy. My new parents say that I have brought lots of joy to the household.

Thanks to Ragom for being such a great organization!

Lovely Miss Cami is now leaving Hawkeyeland to become a Gopher Girl.  She has a new mom and dad and canine sister, Glory, a former Ragom gal herself.  Congrats to the G family - we are so happy for all of you!!!

Hi there, everyone. It's me Cami. As the song goes, "Put me in, coach, I'm ready to play!". I am so happy football season is finally here!! The weather is nice and cool here in Iowa and the vet just taped up my ankles for the game. (That may have also had something to do with the removal of dewclaws from my rear legs.) I am going to rest up abit for a day or two before the first big game this Saturday.

I was on the disabled list for little while when I was spayed on Tuesday, but not anymore! The vet has given me a clean bill of health and says I am ready to go (other than a minor ear infection and one final checkup next Tuesday). My foster dad wants me to be an Iowa Hawkeye, but maybe I will be a Golden Gopher!! I should tell you about the medical bills there are before each of us RAGOM dogs are ready for adoption. Some are more than others, but none of them are inexpensive. Usually, the cost to adopt one of us is less than the money it costs RAGOM to pay for our pre-adoption vet care (like me). RAGOM is soooooooooo good to us! Please consider making a donation to RAGOM to further help their cause and to continue finding GReat families for GReat dogs!
