I am so very happy to tell everyone that Morgan/Penny has found her forever home. She is going to be with a family that is home almost all day, which is something that she really needs. She is such a great girl, and I am going to miss her so much, but I also could not be happier for her. You deserve the best Penny-Pooh, and now you have it. Have a great life, and thank you for sharing part of it with me! Here she is with her brand new family...

I am so pleased with the progress that Morgan has made in the 2 weeks that she has been here with us. She has been a hard one to figure out. When we first got her, she had no interest in eating, and seemed to be sad and depressed. Today, she is always right there when it is time to eat and she is holding her tail high on our walks. I do know that she is very smart and wants very much to please her people. I think her biggest problem is that no one has ever allowed her to be a true Golden Retriever. She is playing with toys, chasing balls, playing with our resident dogs, and acting silly just like the rest of the pack. Being that she was picked up as a stray, I don't have a lot of history on her, but I feel that possibly somewhere along the way, she was picked on by another dog. She shows some concern when a dog rapidly approaches her. She does not like it when they bark at her or really has to know the dog before she will play with them. She is truly a very loving girl, and with the right direction and consistency in her life, she will make a wonderful addition to any family. She will not need a home with a fence.
Abby, you take the birch tree and I'll take the maple tree. We'll get that squirrel yet!
I wonder how many times this cow will need surgery this week.

I had the pleasure of fostering Morgan (now Penny) a few months ago, and now she is back in RAGOM'S care. She is back through no fault of her own. She was adopted by a great family, and was well taken care of. Penny's dad was required to work longer hours, and do more traveling than expected, and he felt that it was just not fair to her to be left with someone else all the time. I picked her up last night, and after a very sad goodbye, she happily got into our car and came home to meet her old friends again. She loves our resident dogs and started playing with them right away. She is really such a sweet girl and only wants to be loved. She follows us all around the house and wants to be close at all times. We went for a long walk this morning (2 adults and 5 GRs) and she did great. She is really good with children of all ages. I know once you meet this very loving girl, you will fall in love with her.
This is what I think Penny needs in her forever home:
- No cats - or small dogs; she has shown signs of aggression toward them
- She would do best in a home where she is not going to be left alone for long periods of time
- She would do very well with another dog to play with as long as it is not a small dog
- She loves to walk, and is great on a flat leash, she is used to getting walked 3x daily, so it would be beneficial to keep that exercise routine for her
- She needs to be with a family that will include her in their activities. She rides very well in the car.
If you would like to meet this beauty, please let placement know - she is waiting to meet you.

Morgan would like to take this time to thank her sponsor, Judith C.! She and her foster family are very grateful for your support! Morgan sends big, wet sloppy kisses your way (I know they are, because I have been the recipient of many). She is truly enjoying life now! She loves her walks, loves to play with toys and balls, and loves to be near us.

Here are some new photos of Morgan girl. She is doing great. Today, we found out that yes, she will retrieve a tennis ball! (We have to be careful not to play too much, as she was just spayed.) She brings the ball almost all the way back. If she were healthier, I think she would love to do more.
She slept in our room with the pack; she does not like to be baby-gated away from everyone. We had a fine night. Later in the morning, she jumped in bed (at my coaxing) and really enjoyed that, getting all the attention and petting. She slept very nice next to me. We are still “watching” the cats but at least she is responding somewhat to her name! Wow - such a beautiful name too. She is feeling very good.
She went for another ride today in the pick-up, and needs a little coaxing to get into that versus my SUV. You never know if it is the ‘size’ or a ‘previous experience’ when some of these golden babes display being hesitant at something such at this. She is great once she is in. We also need to take into consideration her sore tummy too. Morgan’s blood panel came back fine (whew). So we are just in need of good food and loving.
She is so beautiful and especially striking when she ‘poses and stares’ at the cats. Her head is obviously beautiful. Once she fills out, wow, what a looker - not to mention beautiful inside as well. Morgan has a very gentle golden mouth when taking food/treats. She did great on her walk again today. This is one wonderful little girl for sure. It is so hard to imagine how these dogs become this way and why, but that is what rescue is all about.
No accidents. I still walk out with her a ways so she understands what I want her to do her business out there and she does. She has enjoyed cottage cheese on her kibble and turkey broth too. Morgan is a wonderful girl and is going to bond quite fast with the right home. She is very bright and a real quick learner. She goes into her large black crate fine and does not mind being in there. I am using ‘kennel up’ to do this. Cannot say enough great things about such a great golden!
