Abby 09-034

Profile

We just picked this girl up yesterday and we can already tell that this is a NICE dog!  She is 5 years old and has been with the same family since she was 6 weeks old.  She is dark red and weighs 82 pounds.

She is housebroken and walks well on a leash.  She gets along fine with our 4 resident goldens.  She has never been around a cat and is not sure what to make of our cat.....but she's just curious and has not tried to chase or harm the cat.  She rode great in the car.

She has no health concerns and has been spayed.  She eats well with no resource guarding.  She has been mainly an outside dog.  She had been around young children in the past with no problems.  She was also living with another dog.

Her former owners say that she's always been a good dog - no separation anxiety and is not scared of storms.  She's a little confused right now since she's been with one family her entire life.  But she's settling in very nicely after just one day!  She is just a real sweetheart with a happy face and a tail that's always wagging. We'll add more as we get to know this beautiful girl better.

Just wanted to send along a little update on Abby. I had the pleasure of watching her and the rest of her sisters and brother for the weekend. Abby is wonderful girl! She is very affectionate and loves to be petted but is not pushy about it. She is laid back and calm but also has her playful times where she like to play fetch outside and romp with the other dogs. She didn't have any accidents and just seemed to mesh in perfectly with the rest of the pack. She is going to make some family very happy!

Here are some pictures from the weekend.

Abby (Abbie) continues to be the sweetest girl!!  She has adjusted well to our household and has become one of the gang.  She gets along with all 4 of our resident goldens (including a female who is also 5).  She has gotten over her curiosity of the cat, much to the relief of the cat.

She formerly was kept either outside or inside in a crate.  But we have given her free roam of the house along with the other dogs during the day when we are at work.  And there have been NO problems whatsoever -- she's such a good girl!  She eats well with no food guarding, walks well on a leash, goes to the door when she wants to go outside, greets people that come into our house in a friendly, non-threatening way, and on and on.

She loves to be around people but is not a velcro dog and never jumps up on anyone.  This is a great dog for any type of family!
