Aspen arrived at her foster home in Rochester on Friday afternoon, and she was very unsure of what was happening.  Well who wouldn't be confused after sharing living quarters with a pig.  She wagged her tail for me on the way home when I told her that all of her bad days were over, and that she was going to be living the good life from now on. Aspen had a bath on Friday night, and wouldn't stand up in the tub because she was frightened.  She found a safe spot under the end table in the family room, and stayed there most of the night until we went to bed, and she went into her kennel for the night.  She is your typical puppy, and woke up a few times during the night, and cried.

Aspen did not like the collar on her neck and didn't like the leash either. We carried her outside because she was fearful of going through the doors.  When we got outside, she would just lie down and shake.

The next day was much better. We all went outside and shoveled snow. Well I guess Foster Mom and Dad shoveled; Casey, Callie, Abby, and Aspen knocked it back onto the sidewalk.  Aspen seemed to change overnight.  She spent more time away from her safe spot, and loves to play with the toys and balls.  She can get 2 toys in her mouth at once.  She likes to chase balls, and brings them back.

Day three has been the best so far.  Foster Dad took Aspen out this morning and walked her all around the yard several times, just to get her used to the leash.  She did great.  She walked right by his side.  She really seemed to like being there with him. She looked like she was in a marching band because she was stepping so high.  It is nice to see her hold her beautiful tail up high now.  I gave her another bath today, and it went much better than the first one. She stood up nice for me, and I was able to get her bathed better than the first day.

Oh, I guess Aspen wants to say something.

Hi everyone, Aspen here. I really like it here at my new digs. They have this big silver box that has pictures on it, and I really like to watch it.  I heard FM saying something about Animal Planet.

I miss my brothers and sisters, but I like my new resident brother and sisters.  The old guy let me know right away that he wouldn't be playing with me.  I think he is concerned that I might break his record for how many toys you can get in your mouth.  I was glad to see them when I got here; but once they showed me the ropes, I am more interested in following FM and FD around.

Oh yeah, about that bath thing.  You should have seen FM after the bath today.  I shook all over her, and she had to change her clothes.  Ha ha ha, I gotta go for now.  I mean I really gotta go!  I'll send another update soon.

Hi everyone, Aspen here,

I have so much to tell you about. I have been doing so many new things, and I am loving all of it. I go for rides in the car, and I will get in all by myself now. I have gotten to go on lots of shopping trips to these places where they sell dog food, and toys, and balls, and I even saw some birds and cats there. I got to meet a lot of people on my trips that thought I was pretty darn cute.

On Sunday FM &FD's grand kids came for a visit. I LOVE those guys!!! They are 13, 9 and 5 years old. I got a lot of attention from them, and I can't wait until they come back. They also brought their dog along. Her name is Zelda, and I had the best time running thru the house and chasing her up and down the stairs. We played and played until I was so tired, I had to take a nap.

Yesterday we went to visit my FD's mom. She lives in a place where there are people in wheelchairs, and I wasn't one bit afraid of them. I can't wait to see what I get to do next.

Thats all for now. There is a squirrel out in the bird feeder that Abby wants me to keep an eye on.

I wonder if Zelda is this tired, too....

Aspen continues to get better and better everyday.  She is doing really well with her potty training. She does a good job of walking on leash.  She got to meet our neighbors and their 2 goldens today, and had fun chasing each other in the snow. She knows how to sit for a treat.  She will be going to a vet appointment on Feb 5th for the remainder of her puppy shots, and then 2 weeks after that, she will be spayed.

I thought you would like to see some more pictures of this pretty girl.

We are going for a walk whether you like it or no, FD!
