Chloe (Honey 09-024)

Profile

Honey is a sweet girl who was found as a stray so not much is known about her. We have an appointment at the vet tomorrow so will find out about her medical status. I have only known her for a few hours, but can tell that she is a lovely, affectionate dog. She is a bit underweight at 46 lbs, but even at the perfect weight she will never be very large. She has short hair and must have some Lab in her. She has some frost bite on the tips of her ears.

She rides very nicely in the car. She met my three resident dogs and has settled right in. She likes to be near me, but is not pushy about it. According to her previous fosters she is house trained and completely trustworthy left free in the house. They also said that she loves to cuddle. Since we don't know her real name, she is still learning that "Honey Girl" means her.

Chloe continues to do great. I look at her original picture and wonder if this is the same dog! She has grown into a beautiful golden mix, with chronic ear infections under control, and stable weight. I wish I could have her tell me why she was found a stray, but then realize what is important is how she came into my life after my golden died. So they say, things happen for a reason.

Chloe does participate in the READ program as a therapy dog, enjoys winter sports even skijoring, and is waiting for camping/hiking trips. Here she is waiting for one of our walks on a winter day, with her new muttluks.

Chloe (Honey) continues to do well over 1 year later. She lives with her 2 cats, tolerating them, but sure she would really like another Ragom friend. Maybe when Mom doesn't have to work fulltime. Chloe has passed 2 levels of obedience training and is now in agility.

Chloe is also a Delta certified pet therapy dog and will be involved with the READ program this Fall helping children with reading difficulties read to her. She also enjoys doggy daycare once a week at Allbreed Obedience.

See everyone in September at the Ragom picnic.

From Honey's forever family...

My 11 year old golden died suddenly from hemangiosarcoma on Jan 15th. Honey came into my life one month later. I did not even know Ragom existed, but they are a top-notch organization and I am very grateful to them.

Honey was found a stray but she is the smartest, most loveable dog. I thought I could never love another golden as I did my previous dog. Honey has won my heart. As one picture tells a million stories, she is "living the golden life"!

Sincerely,
Phyllis L.
