Hello from Iowa once again! Does it ever get warm around here? F/D said it was too cold (for him) to go for a walk today, so he said I could have the "rest" of the day off. I took him literally and decided to "rest" while he worked on the computer. Everyone needs to chill out once in awhile. Today was my day. I was pretty cranked up yesterday because I ate half of F/M's birthday cake that was sitting on the counter the night before. It really tasted good, but I don't think I want to do that again- at least for another year! Hope you are staying warm this winter and getting some naps like Sam (I am). Nice talkin' to again!
PS- I am meeting a possible "forever home" family next Friday. F/D says they live in Minnesota and the weather is colder there but I can go snow sledding until June.

Sam is doing great here in Iowa. He is well behaved, gets along with our two dogs and four cats and has already learned sit and down. He doesn't bark unless someone is at the door. He loves tennis balls and being outside.

SAM, I am.
I just got here yesterday and foster dad already took me to the vet today. There was not much to be done since the shelter in Minnesota had taken such good care of me and gave me all of my shots, neutered me (whatever that means), and microchipped me so I will never be lost for long. I did like getting all the petting and compliments from the vet for being such a good dog when she examined me. I weighed a grand total of 65 pounds. I bet I can put on 10-20 more as I grow older.
I got to sleep in the bedroom my first night here because I am already house-trained. The four cats did not bother me either- and I did not bother them. We were all quiet through the night. I am not used to crates and cry very loudly when I am in one!!!
Foster dad introduced me to the Gentle Leader today. Piece of cake!! I walked fast, slow, medium, and even jogged and stayed right by F/D's side. Later, three of us dogs all went for a walk together (one other dog like me, foster sister Maren, and a little fellow, Yosi, who looks like he never got big). Everyone was good and we all heeled and sat when we should.
Time for me to go. F/D says I have been on the computer too long (did I tell you I was smart, already?) and that I need to have a picture taken to go along with this story I am sending to RAGOM. See you all in the days ahead as I start to figure out all the new people around me. I like them alot, but I want a "forever" home, not a foster home.
I am told to be a purebred golden retriever but I have these adorable white paws and some white on my chest. I have lovely fur with some curl in it and great rear feathering which will only get better as I get older.
Here I am resting on the couch... ahhh... I love it!!!
