Hey everyone Big D here.
The jury is in and as predicted I have been found innocent. FM sat me down last night and told me with some tears in her eyes that I was moving on to the next phase of my life… The final phase. She said I will be loved and well cared for and kept very busy. We did some packing today. I know that she is sad and that might have something to do with the verdict but whew… believe me I am taking it and running.
Will update you on my next journey.

Big “D” here again.
I have to tell you what happened. I got a new sheep on Saturday at the Petco event. My human sister was nice enough to buy it for me. In case you had not heard, we had a sheep here but he ended up getting damaged and had to be thrown away. I guess Clohe was crushed because it was her sheep. I didn’t confess but all fingers pointed to me. So my human sister bought me this nice orange sheep thinking I could take it with me when I pack my bag and move on. I really liked it. Clohe has PLENTY of toys. On Sunday FD turned the corner and caught Clohe with it. He said she looked like she had been shaving because you could only see her eyes as her face was covered with stuffing. There lie nothing but the limp orange body. I am positive this was retaliation for the 1st sheep incident.
What do you think? The jury is out….

Hey everyone, Dallas again.
Bet you think I am bored, I write so often. I guess I just always seem to have something to say. The jury is still out but I am considered innocent until proven guilty. I’m going with that.
I have attached a couple pictures we took yesterday. Once a Ragom boy, always a Ragom boy. She loves to dress me up. Also one of FM and me. She is kind of sad right now and is mushier then usual, if you can imagine that. She said something about adoption pending and squeezed me so hard I could hardly breathe. I didn’t ask for details but thought she would expand on that soon.
I got to sleep in bed last night ALL NIGHT! What do you think is up with that? I didn’t ask questions, just put my head on that pillow and went to dream land. American Idol tonight. You know what I think about that. I have my place staked with the pillow and it just might be early to bed. An all nighter again.
Yippee!
Checking out…..

Big D checking in with an update. What a weekend I had. I went to the Richfield Petco event and man did I meet a lot of people. Everyone seems to be following my story and FM says I have sparked a lot of interest. Ragom volunteer Devon did a photo shoot on me and said I am so photogenic. I have attached one of the pictures she took. Somehow she managed to get me with my tongue in my mouth. I was pretty thirsty and excited but she used a squeak toy as bait. You know how much I love those toys!
My ultrasound came back normal and I will have my urine checked again this week to make sure the UTI is gone. It’s pretty safe to say it will be.
I am ready to find my forever family and actually met a family yesterday who have another Ragom dog named Luke.
Will update more on that later. Check back. My story is never ending…. At least for now

Big D here. That’s what FD calls me. FM calls me Petunia. How humiliating. I really do not mind, especially today. You see, she all of a sudden comes home from work today and thinks she is Columbo. (Peter Falk she’s not!) There was a paper towel that had been in her office garbage can that was now shredded (not badly) on her office floor. Right away she points her finger at me. Seems there are 2 of us that are alone here during the day. It could have been either of us. However she thinks since I am the new kid on the block and it has never happened before it must have been me. Hm……… she needs more proof than that. Clohe could have totally set me up. I have lived here a couple months too and I certainly know that is inappropriate behavior. I’m trying to get her to move on.
I have finished my meds for my UTI and am feeling good. I have my ultrasound tomorrow just to make sure things are ok and these infections were just a fluke. I am ready for my new home even though FM gets a little teary when we talk about it.
I am attaching a picture of FD and me. We were watching the Superbowl on the floor because the chair was not big enough for both “us men”. What a game huh?
I no longer get the cul-de-sac chorus going. FM gives me one tug on that leash and I just let out a meek little bark. I have to hope the rest of the choir hears me because FM tells me that’s nonsense.
Today Clohe taught me something new though. When the snow melts and the weather gets nicer, we get a lot of walkers in the back of the house on the edge of the woods. She runs to the patio door and starts to bark. It took me a couple times but I have now figured out that when she dashes for the door, there’s someone new to bark at. We still engage in our nut time. She runs so fast and try as I might, I never catch her. It’s fun to try though.
I had a great time at the Woodbury Petco last week. I have some pictures that I will send in with another update. The Girl Scouts were SO GOOD to us! I received lots of treasures.
Hope to see you at the Richfield Petco. It’s a great way to meet a lot of RAGOM furkids. Beware of construction around there but hope to see you!
Dallas aka BIG “D”
I wanted to send these pictures in so you could see how nice these Girl Scouts were to us. I received a new dog bed, a rubber chicken (not to replace my East Coast chicken that I got at Annie’s party) and also a loofah. I thought that loofah was pretty special so I went and hid under the table so no one could take it from me. I get a little possessive of my toys. Not with people, only with other furkids. Thank you girls for making us the recipient of your good deed. I guarantee you that every furkid there loved what they received. I know I did!

Brrrrrrrrr….. It’s chilly. Dallas here. Checking in. I thought maybe FM would do my update but she is just a little bit testy so I thought I would do my own. First off, I am grateful for 2 things. One for sponsors such as Sandra L who sponsored me and also that RAGOM does not allow doghouses because FM told me that is where I should be going. I know she was kidding, but she had that “I mean it” look in her eye. This weekend was so nice and I loved playing in the melting snow. I would romp through it and lick it and roll in it and had just a great time. The neighbor collie came over and played a little with me. It was hard to play because I was on a leash and he has invisible fencing (and did not have his collar on) so he was able to roam free. Bummer. But we had a blast. I discovered that if I went outside and he was not out, all I had to do was let out a little bark and his Mom and Dad would let him out. Well playing really interfers with my bathroom duties so FM had to spend quite a bit of time out there with me. She did not mind too much as it was kind of warm. But today, well that is a different story. This morning I was due to go #2 so it usually takes 2 trips. I do not do both at the same time because I either get too cold or I get distracted. This morning I discovered that when I let out my little bark that not only does Kobe the collie come out but I get the 2 Papillions next door barking and the lab across the street barks too. Not to mention Clohe in the house. I managed to pee after I got some playing time in but that took 20 minutes. FM was really cold (in more ways than one if you know what I mean) and had to come in with me to warm up before attempting to get me to go #2. Well I let out just a little bark and got the chorus going and Kobe came over again. Needless to say after 10 minutes I did not do my business and FM had to go to work. She told me I had better hold it. Well, guess what? I did!!!! Tonight we played the same game. ONLY IT IS SO COLD OUT. Thankfully I did my business now so am good to go for the evening. Whew……….. I am kind of getting the cold shoulder. I always have FD though and you know how I like men! He whispers to me that she will get over it! Whew!
I had another bout at the vet last week. I have another urinary tract infection and I also had an irritated stomach that caused diarrhea. I am again on meds and I feel better already. I will be having an ultrasound of my kidneys and bladder on February 13th just to make sure that everything is ok. I suspect it is but they want to make sure. It could be that the last one never completely went away. Many thanks to Sandra L. for helping out with these costs.
Time to go jump into bed and turn the blanket on. It is my favorite time of the day. Did I mention I sleep in bed now (if I do not take up too much room!) Time to snuggle up with FM!!
Thanks for checking on me!

I wanted to share with you one of Dallas’s favorite things to do. We climb into bed, turn on the electric blanket and spend quality time watching television together. As you can see, they are not always thrilled with my choice of programs.
A special thank you to Sandra L. again for sponsoring this boy. His ears look good and he does minimal licking of his paws. His special food seems to be working. It took a while but I think we might have found something positive that will work for him.
Thank you, thank you

Hey Ragom fans…. Dallas checking in.
I have huge news. I am meeting a family on Saturday that is comprised mostly of BOYS and MEN! FM has told you how I love those men. Well you know. I love everybody but being a guy myself I tend to be drawn to them I guess. I will have a Mom (of course). Everyone needs a Mom.
FM seems to think I could do well there. But I can stay here too for as long as it takes. My allergies are under control, my ears look good, and I have not had to have the gentle leader on since it is so cold out and we do not go anywhere. I don’t care for the cold, but we all know my dislike for that leader.
Not much happening here. It is too cold to go anywhere but bed with the electric blanket on. Don’t get me wrong. I like that too.
Thanks for checking in and I will keep you posted on my meet and greet.
Paws crossed…….

Dallas is doing amazingly well in foster care. He is such a happy boy and very laid back. He will play if there is a dog that wants to play or he is content with humans. The closer he can get to them the better. He does well and is very trustworthy being alone for a normal work day.
His ears have cleared up and look good although I have been cleaning them every day. He is almost done with his antibiotics for his urinary tract infection but I see no blood so I suspect that is gone also.
His favorite toy is still his chicken but he does love tennis balls. He is a little possessive of his toys when it comes to other dogs but humans can take anything away from him.
His diet is still duck and potato kibble which he seems to enjoy. I have not found any treats that are ok for him yet that he will eat. Clohe (resident dog) cannot have grains either but he does not seem to like her treats even though they cost $12.00 for a small bag. Go figure.
I think he has lost weight and his coat is soft and wavy. He has been allergy tested and will need to follow a diet that will suit him based on their findings. He has a lot of funny antics and has gotten very comfortable here.
If I did not want to continue fostering, I seriously would keep him.
Don’t miss out on your chance to meet this boy.

Hey everyone….. Dallas checking in again. It has been an eventful week. I have been back to the vet and it was discovered that I have a urinary tract infection now. So we are treating that along with my ear infections. My ears seem to be doing better and I am actually eating Duck and Potato food which should help those allergies moving forward. My neuter healed nicely and that is all behind me now. I used to lift my leg but now am a squatter. FM thinks this is so funny but is grateful to have this one quality of a female. Whatever that means….
I was one of the lucky dogs that got to attend Annie’s party yesterday. What a blast. 4 hours of non stop attention and plenty of belly rubs and head scratches to last the day.
I met many nice people who were very interested in me. FM told them I was meeting a family that afternoon and we would have to see how that panned out. I want to send a personal thank you to Jeff and Jen who came out to see all of us and brought me a very special chicken. He crows and FM will attest to the fact that he has not left my side since I came home. So very special he is and all mine..
Annie got a cow. I’m glad she got something too. I came home and barely had time to catch a couple winks before this nice couple came to meet me. They have a Ragom dog too and think that I might be a nice addition to their family. All went well and I will be meeting their Ragom boy next weekend. Paws crossed that he likes me! I love it here but FM says I need to have my very own family so she can help others like me. I will keep you posted.
I have attached some pictures of me and my new chicken. He’s all mine. I do not think I have ever been so tired. I actually slept sitting up and FM and FD watched as my head bobbed. They laughed. I’m not sure that was very nice.
Thanks for catching up on my story and try to stay warm.
Another wet kiss for my sponsor, Sandra L. I appreciate you thinking of me and my needs.

Hey everyone….It’s me Dallas checking in. I’m kind of laid up so thought I would fill you in. I had my neuter on Thursday and also it was discovered that I have some really bad ear infections. I am getting the full dose of treatment for them and wearing a cone (HUMILIATING?) to keep me from licking my private area. FM thought she could trust me…….. but NO! I can be so sneaky when I really want to get at it.
A HUGE PAW SHAKE and a sweet kiss goes out to Sandra L. for sponsoring me. I am so grateful that I will get the help I need with these darn allergies. FM does think they can be controlled with the right kind of food. We did a little research and found one that was appropriate for what I can and cannot have so she is feeling positive and tells me I will be feeling better soon. I even eat the food so that was a positive note too.
I weigh 78 pounds. I need to lose about 8 or 10 pounds so should not be too much of a challenge. I like to eat but I am not a chow hound.
I am attaching a picture of Clohe and me. She is quite the diva but she really likes me so we get along fine. I get along with all dogs at this point.
A special invite to Sandra L. Wanna meet me? Just a little warning: I will melt your heart. (FM said that)

Dallas has settled in pretty nicely here. I am used to having seniors so having a 4 year old is a little different. I crate him during the day when I am at work and he seems fine. I am not sure if I would have to but until he is neutered, I’m not taking any chances. He is scheduled for his vet visit tomorrow. Poor guy. He’s going to be wishing he was in that crate with his peanut butter kong! He did not eat for 2 days but with the added bonus of a little whip cream on it one night, he ate heartily and has ever since.
I have come to learn that he loves all dogs and just wants to play with them. I do not have a fenced in yard so he is not reaping the benefit of this. I think another dog and a fenced in yard would be great for him. He definitely needs some training. He has checked out my counter tops a couple times to no avail because I do not leave anything on them. He also is quite the puller. I think he would make a great walking companion once I get a gentle leader for him.
He definitely needs to lose some weight. He has had a bath and his coat is gorgeous. I think he has slight allergies that I am going to ask the vet about. He chews his feet once in a while and his surrendering owner said he would get ear infections that they link to his “allergies”. She did do allergy testing on him but the results for everything came back relatively low so I am thinking this could be controlled by what food he eats.
He LOVES to play fetch and always has something in his mouth. He starts out in bed with us but must be more comfortable on his dog bed on the floor. After about an hour that is where I find him.
Typical golden. He loves to be brushed, touched, and as close to you as possible. He prefers to walk on your feet! Can’t get any closer than that.
If you think Dallas might be the boy for you, email placement and let them know of your interest. He is near perfect and I do not expect him to be around long.
Hope to see you at the West St Paul Petco Saturday.
