I would like to unveil some beautiful puppies.  Lauren 08-498 gave birth to 11 pups last Saturday and everyone is doing well.  Shelby is wearing a lime green collar. She is very cute.  She is one of 3 girls and 8 boys. The girls are quite a bit smaller than the chubby boys:)  I will write more as they start to get their personalities:)

Shelby is ready to go home:)  She is the pretty little thing in a purple print big girl collar.  All the pups went to the vet this week and have their microchips, first shots and first dose of iverhart max (heartworm prevent).  The vet said they are all in good shape and seem very healthy:)  Shelby will be going to the Adoption event in W St Paul  Saturday.  A couple of volunteers are going to pick her and a couple of her littermates and go there for a date.  If you want to meet them please go to the event and look for the cutest little puppies ever:)  If you can't make it but want to meet them email placementatragom [dot] org and we will set something up.

Now that the Holidays and 4 birthdays are for the most part over I can sit down and write some updates:)  The little pups that I saw born 6 weeks ago are huge and beautiful:) Not to mention two weeks away from being able to go to their forever homes.  If you are interested in adopting one of these pups don't wait too long because there are only a couple more spots left.  I will be putting more pictures up soon but I couldn't wait any longer to get their 5 week pictures on the website.

Shelby at 5 weeks

These guys are all so active now and are driving their mom crazy:)  They love to sink their teeth into anything they can.  I have put all sorts of chew toys in their pen.  Whenever we go in to clean or play they love to chew on us and those little teeth can sting:)  But it's all worth the fun of playing with them.  My resident dog likes to join them in the pen and play with them too.  She is like the auntie that gives poor mom a break:)  Mom is still letting them snack but they are having 3-4 regular meals and drinking water too.  I will have to start thinking about the weaning process soon.  I'm sure Lauren won't mind too much not having those teeth on her:)  I am also going to start getting them used to being crated for short amounts of time and take a trip outside when it's not too cold.

Shelby is one cute little girl.  She is adventurous (as far as I can tell yet). She is always exploring the great unknown (our family room) for new things.  She is good with people, she likes to come over for a cuddle and hug.

Shelby and Wilson with SuperMom

Wednesday, December 3, 2008

Hi there,  I am Shelby.  My sister Harmony told me to write my own update because my foster mom is too busy taking care of all 11 of us plus Mom.  She is in there all the time just watching and talking to us and making sure we are ok.

I am the cute little girl in the lime green ribbon in pictures.  I am a beautiful light gold with some wavys and as cute as can be.  I am a good girl who just tries to stay out of trouble.  I eat and sleep and practice my walking skills.  I have more than doubled my birth weight in the long 2 1/2 weeks I have been here. I think it's because I'm a good eater.  We still don't know if I am a purebred golden or a golden doodle.  I guess golden doodle mean half golden and half poodle.  From what I hear they are all the rage right now.  Either way though I am going to make someone a great friend.  You have to be ready for all the puppy things though like chewing up your stuff, potty training, vet visits, mouthing on your hands, sharp puppy teeth, obedience training and crying in my kennel the first few nights during kennel training (highly recommended).  But if you are up for the hard stuff, I will grow up to be a great member of your family.  I will need someone with a lot of patience, love and time.  Ok, on with the fun stuff - pictures - check them out and remember, I'm the gorgeous one in the lime green ribbon. If you think that a puppy is right for you and your family then contact placementatragom [dot] org and in a couple weeks you can come meet us :)

Big yawn...yep, that's me!
