Charger 08-525

Profile

Welcome to the world Charger – he is the one in the blue Ribbon – he is the smallest of his siblings. Charger’s mom is Chicka/Shelia 08-479. Shelia came from a breeder in SD that relinquished her to the local Humane Society. I am so happy we were able to take her in.

Charger would have had 8 other brothers and sisters but only 2 others made it. Charger is a Pure Golden Retriever and currently weighs less than a pound – he will not be ready to go home until December 19th, but would love to find a home so his new owners can watch him grow and be part of his life from the start.

A quick update on Charger...

As FM predicted, Charger shed his blonde puppy coat and turned the dark red color of his ears (I think he looks a lot like his mom, Chicka/Sheila 08-479). A big thank you to RAGOM for bringing this bundle of joy into my life.

He was recently named "Dog of the Month" at Central Bark Doggy Daycare in Eden Prairie. Below is a cute article the daycare staff wrote about him.

He runs... he jumps... he slides... it's Super Charger, Central Bark® Eden Prairie's Dog of the Month. This active Golden Retriever started attending doggy day care when he was just a wee pup. Now, four months later, we have the privilege of watching seven month old Charger go, and go, and go, three days each week. Whether it is wrestling with buddies Cooper and Baxter, chasing Perkins and Timber, or spending time with his sweetie Gracie (another Golden Retriever puppy), Charger brings his "A" game to Central Bark. Here is Charger ready to roll a toy down the slide. He thinks it is lots of fun to watch it tumble and then "whoosh", he slides down after it. This antic is truly a site to see, and consistently gets the staff laughing out loud. Congratulations Charger on being selected as Central Bark Eden Prairie’s Mr. June. It warms our hearts to see how you’ve blossomed into a smart, happy, and affectionate young man. Enjoy the summer spotlight Charger!!

Charger oh Charger where are you my Charger?! This big boy is so full of fun and love that he has been a joy to watch grow up. He is huge, he is going to be very red like his mother when he gets bigger. His coat is very thick and has a little wave to it. Charger is the first one to want to go outside and play – he LOVES to play outside in the snow. To make it even more fun, he found the hay pile that he can dig holes in and go and hide, now that is a piece of heaven to him. When everyone is sleeping he will go to the door and cry to go out and play. Of course he cannot go out for long, he can only be out for a few minutes and then we make him come in.

Charger loves playing with toys and his brother and sister. He can make a game out of everything. Charger does a great job of letting us know when he has to go out and go potty. He will go to the door and actually bark if we do not notice him in time.

Charger is looking forward to seeing his mom again. She is going on a cruise and is there now, so as soon as she gets home, Charger will go and live the really good life!

Charger is doing great and now he feels that he should be out with all the big girls sleeping – around 2:30am he will start barking to let us know he is up and ready to come and sleep with us, of course we don’t let him, but then he wakes up his sisters and they are crabby when they wake up so than we hear them fighting in the play pen. I have had to come out a few times to make sure they stop, since it sounds like someone is going to be killed. J

Charger and the girls have started to go outside potty now. Whenever they wake up or after a play time and eating we go out on the deck and head to the hay area. They are slowly getting it. I of course feel like Charger is letting us know he has to go outside potty, but I am sure that is NOT what he wants, he just wants us to get up.

The 3 pups have been weaned from mom now, they have had a tough time getting the whole food thing down, but we are getting their and they are still very healthy. The three pups had to go to the vet on Tuesday, they have a pretty nasty case of round worms from Mom’s milk but we are treating that now – Charger weighed in at 8 pounds!!! Way to fat for a 5 week old! So we got them de wormed and next week they will go in and get chipped and their first set of shot!

Charger was playing in the play pen today with his yellow blanket – cutest thing on earth – he would get the little blanket in his mouth and whip his head around and growl.  Of course when I got the picture he was just going to attack the blanket again, but it is still cute.

Charger is the lone boy range and the middle weight class . When you pick Charger up, he grabs on to your hands with his paws. It is the cutest thing around. He just wants to feel safe and sound. Charger is also going to be pretty easy to potty train. Whenever we are holding him and he has to go potty, he is very antsy and vocal that he needs to get down NOW. When we put him down he finds his potty space. He has great potty signals.

The puppies are now starting to walk, their teeth are coming in and now they are playing which you can see from their pictures. They are a total joy to have around and talk about Fat and Happy pups!

Charger is doing great. He is still the smallest, but trust me, he is NOT small at all! He is doing great and he is catching up to his sisters.

Charger was the first one to have his eyes open. But everyone else has caught up. Charger has a little white strip on his chest and a huge block head!

Take a look!

Charger is doing great and his eyes are starting to open. All three of the pups are now starting to get up on their four legs and crawling around. They are all huge since mom is feeding them so well.

Charger is the lighter with a small white patch on his chest and weighed in at just under 2 pounds – he is handsome and will have the block head of a golden!

Charger  is doing great.  Charger is eating and gaining weight, which is so great to see.  Charger is crawling around and looking for mom whenever she is not around.  It is good to see since he gets all the milk he wants.   We can’t let them get too overweight.

Charger has this really cool stripe down his back.  I am going to have to get a picture of it.
