It's time that I let everyone know about me. I am Goldie, but I do not answer to that. (I have not been called that for very long.) I answer to Peanut more often. That is what my FM (foster mom) calls me since I am a small girl. I am thought to be about 2ish, I weigh 47.2 lbs., and I am not even 20 inches tall. Hence, the Peanut name.

I had a bad start to my life with either being in a kennel all day to have puppies, or tied out to a tree 24/7. NOT the life a Golden should be living or any dog for that matter. I was rescued by a nice lady who eventually got me into RAGOM and in the bestest foster home. WOW......I didn't know life could be sooooo good! FM has a question though. She wants to know how a dog that has lived all of its life in a kennel or tied up to a tree 24/7 knows about the joy of playing with a tenny ball or playing with woobies (dog toys).

I caught on REAL quick that these are pretty good things to play with and I love to squeak them. I am crate trained and that is where I sleep at night and when FM has to be away from home. In fact when I don't have to be in my crate FM leaves the door open and that is where she can find me a lot of the time. FD (foster dad) gave me a bath and boy do I feel sooooo much better. FM had to cut the feathering off of my tail bacuase they were full of mats that she could not get out. But when my feathering grows back out I will have a very pretty tail.

I pretty much ignore the cats and I love to play bitey face with my fur sisters and brothers. I play more with one of my fur sisters than the other one or my fur brothers, but I do like to run, run, run with all them when we are all outside. I follow FM around all the time and I love to be petted and loved on, but you would too if you had very little human contact ever since you were born. I am a cutey pa tooty, but don't let that fool you because I can be mischievous.

Oh no....not that cute little thing, you say. Oh yes, I can be. You do not leave ANYTHING out on the counter where my little self can reach up on the counter and steel it. But, she is so short, you say. Oh, don't let that fool you either, because I can get up there and reach it. FM does not know how I can make myself stretch that far, but I can. When I do look on the counter to see if there is anything that has MY name on it and FM catches me, I am learning NO, OFF. Oh, and if there is anything in the sink that I find that has my name on it, I will steel it right out of the sink! There are just so many new things that I have not seen before and I need to check it all out. :)

We are working on "sit", but FM has to help my bottom to sit a lot of the time. If you think I would REALLY like to be a part of your family and you have another fur baby at home, please let Placementatragom [dot] org know.

Hi RAGOM!

I’m from David City, Nebraska and two years ago, in May, my wife and I were in search of a golden after we lost our 2 y/o golden (Macy) to surgery at K-state. We had trouble finding one close to home as Golden Retriever Rescue in Nebraska (GRRIN) does not see anywhere near the amount of dogs that your organization does and the waiting list is always very long and drawn out. We saw Abby (aka Goldie) on your website and wanted so badly to meet her! Anyway, despite us being out of your typical service area, you were able to contact GRRIN and use their pictures/application approval to help us out. Within less than two weeks of email/phone contacts, we were approved and on our way to meet Abby!! Low and behold, she was a great fit and we were on our way back home with a new family member! J

She’s been such a great addition and we love her very much. She’s been a great companion to our other rescue Dixie, a lab/border collie mix. She’s great with all people, kids and even our now 5 month old baby girl! I know it’s been two whole years, and maybe you don’t remember us, but I just wanted to thank you again for all the help you provided for us which eventually helped us find Abby. She’s been a blessing to us and we’re so happy to have her in our home! J We keep in touch with her Foster mom, but thought that you might appreciate some pictures of her to see how she’s doing. She had a rough life before RAGOM and I think the pictures really show how happy she is with her new family and we are with her!!

I have been adopted to what I know is my new forever home. I will really miss my FM, FD, and my foster brothers and sisters, as I was with them for 10 months. but my new home will be a wonderful place for me. Dixie and I will be best buds and play and play and play together. Here is a picture of me and my new happy family.

Hi all. FM mom is off doing laundry so thought I would get on here and find out who I can complain to. As you can see by the pictures I was outside with my ball and I wanted to play, play, play ball, but FM said no, no, no. She said it was way too hot to run and play with the ball. What's a pupper to do when FM won't play ball with me? It was very hot out today, but I would have still played ball.

FM took my ball from me so I would not run around with it since it was so hot out. She was trying to get me to go potty and all I wanted to do was to play ball. But as you can see I just sat in front of her waiting for her to throw the ball for me. She never did, so I finally just went potty and we went inside where it was nice and cool. So, I played with my ball by myself on the couch. FM mom promised me that as soon as it was not too hot and humid out that we would play ball. I hear FM and I think she is done with the laundry, so I am going to go before she catches me on this plastic box thingy.

Goldie here. I need to report that I am still doing really well. FM has another foster in the house and he is about the same age that I am. His name is Rusty and we have become best buds. We are together all the time and we play and play and play. Outside you can find us running and running and running to chase each other. He was here for one day and then FM took him to lose his manhood (whatever that is) and I moped for two days until he got to come home. FM says that I am just the sweetest this ever.

Here is Rusty and I playing (I am in front)

Rusty and I running down the hallway (I am on the right)

Here I am relaxing after a good play session with Rusty!

FM finally got a picture of me watching Animal Planet. This was a show that some one had rescued some baby kitties and I was trying to find out where the noice was coming from. I heard those baby kitties meowing and I couldn't figure out where they were. They were not on either side of the TV and they were not in back of the TV because I looked and I looked several times. I enjoy watching Animal Planet and also like watching the shows that have other dogs on it. FM thinks it is real cute when I turn my head from side to side.

Now that the weather has finally gotten nicer, FM mom and I have been going for more walks. When FM gets out my leash, I really get all excited. I like going for walks and we are working on my not pulling so much. We are also working on when FM stops, I need to sit. Sometimes I do and sometimes I don't. I am doing pretty good about not pulling so hard, but when I get excited or when I think I hear something that I need to check out, then I think I need to pull to help FM go a little faster, so I can check things out. I don't want to miss anything you know.

So far the only way I am telling FM that I need to go potty is when she is up and moving around, I run toward the back door. Then I run to her and sometimes I run back to the door. If I don't run back to the door, FM askes: "Do you have to go pot pot, do you have to go potty?" and then I run to the back door. Eight times out of ten I really do have to go potty, so I think that is pretty good if you ask me.

I continue to do really well. If you have another dog(s) and want a real love bug and companion, please let placement know.

I have to tell you about my two new loves. First FM and FD got satellite and I love to watch Animal Planet.  I can't figure out how those other puppers got inside that box. I look all around it and behind it, but don't see them there. Also, I LOVE LOVE LOVE kids. I get so excited that I just go in circles, like I do when I am out in the snow. Boy, this indoor life just keeps getting better and better. I continue to do very well and FM keeps telling me that I am a good girl.

I love sticking my head in the snow!!!

I really like these little people!!!

I LOVE my toys!!!

Boy, am I soooo happy that I am an inside dog now, cause it sure is cold out there. But I just love the snow. I get soooo excited when I am in the snow that I just don't know what to do. I try and run in all directions and since I don't know where to go first, I just run in circles and circles and more circles. FM can't get a good picture of me since I am constantly moving. A couple of times she could have gotten a decent picture of me, but it was just WAY too cold out there for her to take off her gloves to get a picture.

I continue to do good. This learning to "stay" stuff hasn't gotten very far. FM has been sick, so we have not been working on it a lot and when we do, I sit real nice, but when it comes to the "stay" part, all I want to do is be close to FM when she moves back. So I get up and go with her. I am a little love bug and just want to be close so I can get petted and loved on.

Play hard- Sleep hard!

Life is good!

A nap and a ball, how great is this!

Okay, okay, I will stop playing long enough to let everyone know that this living inside stuff really rocks. Also, FM wanted me to send you a couple of pictures of my FB and me to let eveyone see what a peanut I am. You cannot tell in the pictures of just me, but standing next to my FB you can see it.

I continue to do very well. I still follow FM all over because it would be a shame to miss out on some petting and some loving, you know. I have learned that I am not going to be left alone and I can relax. On these Indian Summer days I have been going for walks and I am geting better about pulling. I still have work to do, but I am better than I was.  :) Gotta get back to my playing.

My FM finally got this plastic box working again, so she told me that I had to stop playing long enough to let everyone know how I was doing.

Boy does this living indoors stuff really rock!! I'm learning a lot of things. I'm learning the rules of being able to live indoors. I've learned that it is pretty nice to be on the couch. I get up there and play and play and play, usually with a ball. But sometimes I just roll all over and over.

I'm learning that it is not a nice thing to take things off of the counter. Lately I've just been sniffing and that is it but FM still keeps an eye on me. I've learned to sit before I get my food and not to get into my FS's or FB's food when it is being put down. I wait for my food, because I know now that I am going to get fed. I've learned to sit for a treat.

I've learned that I do not have to be so nervous or suspicious and I do not have to walk all over and pant. I now can just lay down and relax and sometimes even fall alseep. I've learned that if FM closes the door to the bedroom so I do not roam around, I can sleep in the bedroom with everyone else at night instead of in my crate. I still have to use my crate when FM has to be somewhere in the day.

I've learned how to play nice with the cats in the house and outside. At first I wanted to chase the cats outdoors, but I no longer want to do that. I still play and play and play with one of my FS's and when we are outside I like to run with my FB's.

I know there is more to learn, but my FS's and FB's are helping me. I'm sure that there are more things that I have learned, but it is time to go and play right now. Please let placementatragom [dot] org know that I might be the one to brighten up your home.

This blanket was on the couch, but I thought that I would take it off and get real comfy.  :)
