Just wanted to send along a picture of Daisy getting ready to head back to Minnesota this morning. We were very happy and excited for this girl to get such a wonderful home!
Daisy went to the vet on Tuesday and got all up to date on her shots and all checked out. She had a slight yeast infection in one of her ears which we are treating, but other than that she is a perfectly healthy young lady. She went back in today to get spayed and the surgery went very well. Poor girl is pretty sleepy this evening, but I know she will be back to her active self in no time at all. We will just take it easy till she feels back to her old self. The past few days have been pretty uneventful. We have been continuing to walk/jog every evening and she loves it. We are working on having her wait while we feed her and she has become very good when we crate her. We have found that she is a talker and likes to let you know when someone walks by outside. She is a total attention lover and just wants to be with you getting petted all the time.
We've got some great news for Daisy. She has a family driving all the way from Minnesota to see her on Sunday. She is really hoping that this is going to be her forever family. We will keep you updated on how everything turns out!
I'm so sleepy, I don't even want to play with the kitties!
Daisy made it Ames Sunday afternoon and is really enjoying the golden life. She is a wonderful young girl who loves everyone and everything. This young lady doesn’t have a mean bone in her body! Since arriving we have been starting to work on Daisy’s manners. She had no training in her former life and will greatly benefit from obedience classes in her new forever home. She is just a young girl with the energy of a puppy. We started working on sit Sunday evening and it took no time at all for her to pick it up. She is now very consistent with it. She is also very good about coming when you call her and loves being around her people and getting love and pets.
Daisy has been sleeping in a crate the past couple of nights and that has been working well. She whines for a couple of minutes and then settles in for the night. She didn’t need to get up at all last night to go out. She is housetrained but still needs to go out often to keep from having accidents. She loves playing with kongs, stuffed toys, and tennis balls. She also loves playing with our cats (though they don’t love it as much as she does). Our resident dog Mia and has never been much of a player so Daisy likes to take her playful energy out on the cats. They are actually pretty patient and when they get fed up they run and hide.
We have been going for walks everyday and Daisy has done well using the gentle leader after she got used to it. She enjoys being outside and walking. She is a young girl with a lot of get up and go and needs an active family that will enjoy exercising her. Daisy is going to see the vet this afternoon and will be getting spayed later this week. More information about this sweetheart later. Bye for now!
